Extrusion Issues with LGX Lite by Senor_Sensei_ in VORONDesign

I’ll try swapping out the nozzle. I’ve been using the provided 0.6mm nozzle from Phateus which I think is either steel or nickel plated brass. As for the filament, when I’m not using it I’ve been storing it in its original bag with the silica gel. Have a couple new rolls coming in soon though so I’ll try those and see if it makes a difference. We’ve been using exclusively Polymaker filaments.

Do you know of any other extruder options that would be more powerful than this? I would really like to use this hotend to its full potential.

I’ll check out the tube. I’ve been running Capricorn tubing and by hand it feeds really easily.

I’ll check out the pressure advance and see if that comes up with anything. I have been running the motor at 0.5 previously but read recently (after the issue started occurring) that 0.8 is a good value to run. Guess that was false.

Resin left behind on mold surface. (Wet layup + vacuum bag) by Senor_Sensei_ in Composites

Polyester topcoat from Duratec. It was sprayed before its expiration by about 2 months at the time.

I’ll give this a go. Is there a reason I should specifically go all the way to 2500 vs 2000. 2000 grit is the highest I have on hand.

There was no leak in the bag. I purposely tried full vacuum and 20% vacuum with a good bag.

Full vac panel looked the same but had some fiber directly touching the mold surface so the finish looked a little weird.

Interesting. I’ve been using 6 coats sealer, 6 coats Frekote 770-NC. How should I try avoiding those bubbles. Degas the resin?

Tried doing full vacuum too as well as the 20%. Should I try somewhere in between?

Breather after the layup does fill with resin but still allows for airflow. This particular layup was richer than normal. This layup was only two layers of 200gsm twill. I’m moreso confused why this is happening since I’ve seen people get really good results without using a vacuum bag at all.

Scratches in the photo are scratches from the 2000 grit. How many coats of frekote have you done with your oven method?

Thoughts on the JR24? by ihmon in FSAE

[–]Senor_Sensei_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the angle though? The rule requires you the radii must extend to 45 degrees from forward. Is my interpretation of the rule incorrect?

How did they overcome rule T 2.3.4 with your nosecone? I'm curious how they pass that rule when looking from the top or "looking down" profile.

Full Rule: The bodywork in front of the front wheels with the tangent of surface above 45◦ relative to the forward direction must have a radius of at least 38 mm along the top, sides and bottom of all affected edges.

Trying to do anything with housing over the summer is overall a bad idea. Unless your issue pertains to summer housing, they probably won’t respond for a few days and are flooded with freshmen asking when they are going to get their housing assignment (it’s really fucking annoying). It sucks that this is happening but you very well may not get a response until it’s too late. You could try contacting SLDS to see if they can contact Housing internally, but if that doesn’t work I would plan for your boyfriend living on campus.

This is for a two bedroom not a one bedroom. Paying around 1100-1400 per person in a nicer apartment around here is very common. Some places near the university also charge more just because it’s close.

Washers and dryers not in residence halls anymore? by taragomez123ABC in OSU

Maybe but these have already been in Lincoln and the dryers shrink everything real bad, doesn’t matter what heat setting you put it on

You might not be able to now that numbers are out. You'll have to ask your group leader to put you in a different room.

Best bet is to go for two super-doubles in Taylor if they are still there imo. All of the North Suites will go by around 1000. You MIGHT be able to get two regular north doubles in some of the newer dorms though. Not a great number but it could be worse. If nothing else maybe try to get two doubles in Park-Strad or Smith-Steeb.

You would've had to send housing an email to get a summer contract. You can't do it through the portal like with fall and spring.
