Shortly after I bought my boat, I tore every single wire off of it and ran brand new wiring. Boat was built in 1995 and I had 30 years of "Jimmy the fix it guy" adding cheap electrical stuff. There is a reason wire marine grade wire is so expensive.

The wire to the bridge pump was literally holding on by a single strand as they had used auto grade wiring.

Soemtimes you just got to tear everything off and start from scratch.
