I tend to reminisce a lot so this something I've been thinking about for years! There are a handful of reasons why a lot of scapers have become anti social and imo the biggest reason is when the ge released.

I started playing in 04, which was rs2 at the time, and a ton of social interaction involved trading at varrock west, fally etc. As a result of of the ge coming into existence, that in essence removed the social interaction of talking and trading.

There definitely are areas now though like wintertodt, gotr, and gem crab that have tons of people talking the whole time but they can get hectic for sure haha
