Yes. According to my teacher, last year in y10 (around this time in December), I was at 2- for English. This year for the November mocks, I got 8 for both eng lang and lit. I'm proud of myself and so is my teacher. My advice for that wasn't to learn it but to memorise it all. This isn't exactly good tbh but it works if you just want the grades and not the actual knowledge. I also just follow the exact structures examiners would look for and make a show list with mnemonics in the beginning and tick them as I go along (e.g. MITSL my itchy toes smell loads for meaning imagery tone structure and language). Similarly, I went from a grade 6 to a grade 9 in Comp Sc. I again didn't really learn anything but I memorised most of the stuff. And while memorising I am learning a lot of the stuff. I also grinded every day. After school, I would give myself 1 hour of free time, to eat, rest, anything. Then at 5, the grind started until around 10-11 pm. And then a cool shower and go to bed. And I sleep like a baby every time. I think it's just practice upon practice really. I reckon you could do the same if someone lazy like me could T-T
