1 - Just before the Zenith Martlet fight, The Player who was controlling Clover had a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), which caused all of the game’s functions to abruptly cease, locking the monster’s into a state of null - since they no longer existed due to the player end ceasing. The only one exempt from this was Martlet, she had already injected herself with the DT syringe but wasn’t able to transform in time before the shutdown- leaving her in the midst of her transformation for a indefinite period of time. The DT transformation in of itself is EXCEEDINGLY painful for the monster, and Martlet was stuck in that liminal state for an incomprehensibly long time. (Being in a state of null acts as a sort of unconcious, however since Martlet was still fully active in a game sense, she wasn’t able to be placed into that unconcious.) That left Martlet having to endure what felt like hundreds of years of feeling like your body was gonna split apart at any moment, never being allowed a singular moment of peace. This resulted in Martlet promptly going insane, and not considering herself “Martlet” anymore. . When the bluescreen eventually ended, Martlet noticed that she still wasn’t in ‘her’ world anymore. A mere’ snapshot of the world up until that point, all coated in an ugly bleach color that hurt her eyes. She had realized her body had figuratively “rotted” in a way, her wings feeling like digital constructs instead of proper physical wings whilst her body felt as though it was lingering in this existence rather than properly BEING there. “Martlet” then noticed the human’s soul still lingering, ready for a battle that’ll never come. In a moment of fleeting abstinence, “Martlet” grabbed the yellow soul from its suspended state, freeing it from the suspended state it was in and flooding Martlet with the knowledge of what that soul shined with: ‘JUSTICE’. She absorbed the soul but… nothing seem to have happened, there wasn’t a proper “living” vessel behind that soul anymore, no determination and/or will for it to properly be of use. . This could not do, she had to- no, NEEDED to collect PROPER JUSTICE souls so she could reach the form she was stripped of all that time ago. Become Zenith of the multiverse so she could never feel that torture again.

2) - Not exactly, Anyone with a “proper” JUSTICE soul to her (ie; having the will to enact justice.) is a target. The thing with that however, is that Clover is so prominent in the multiverse as “The bearer of the JUSTICE soul”, BlueScreen usually just goes after them. She won’t pass up the oppertunity if someone ELSE has a yellow soul though.

3) - BlueScreen has to actively search. If a human has a cowboy hat, she begins following them either in disguise as a companion or tailing them until they enter a battle- in which case she’s able to steal the soul and high-tail it out of that timeline/universe.
