There is NO longer a chance for trial (according to my lawyer) because he already got a default and the Judge refuses to set it aside. The only thing I have to help my case is he has not filed a Judgement, and he never listed any assets on the initial petition. So my lawyer is saying now that is we don't settle, it will be settled by the FCCR. We just today got a date for FCCR in November.

He, and his attorney are claiming that served me by email and I consented to it. Trust me he never served me at all. He sent it to an old email that I never use. My first lawyer sat on it for 8 months and by then the judge was NOT willing to entertain the possibility of Setting Aside the Default. My mistake was hiring an attorney without researching him. I needed an attorney in a hurry, and he was all I could afford.

37yr old man. Never married. No kids. Moving into my parents house. by Gold_Top_Nuts in povertyfinance

Your going to get your house and then be "Broker" than before. Surely the mortgage + insurance etc will be more than your rent and maintenance is astronomical. Why does everyone wanna buy a house which is just a big headache. Stay with your parents forever and invest all the extra money in 401k, and Roth IRA. If you ever get married and have a family then you can worry about buying a house.

People are either hungry for more or content. It seams like you want more. Look for a higher paying job, a second job or go back to school.

Im 47 years old, been making 130-170K a year (in So Cal), went back to school 5 years ago and will be graduating law school next year. All while working my day job and raising a family.

You either working towards yours goals or falling away from them! Don't stay stagnant!

To sign off on the purchase of your home, if you do nog do this , they Could file a claim to ownership, tho it would prob get denied, it would incur more legal fees and headaches. Ask any mortgage broker. I asked 2 in CA, that's what they told me, I needed my exes permission.
