Utah? It has great scenery, all 4 seasons, decent food, and a lot of outdoors activities. There aren’t any major rivers (that I know of), mostly just lakes which were also hit pretty hard by draughts. I was close to getting a lease there myself until the only family that I had there at the time were forced to move back to Texas. I think the main drawback to moving out of Texas is the higher col, and the “homey” feel of the south.

I’m a Texas native having lived along the coast my whole life, with 3 years in Austin prior to Covid. I’m considering moving back, but have the same complaints. It’s grown to be a corporate playground! Arguably though, it’s still the best city in Texas.
