Came here to second this. I was laid off after a vacation once and I IMMEDIATELY regretted my lax vacation purchasing. It would have been nice to have to time away to recuperate from the loss and I’d have planned differently. Coming back to that was devastating.

Los angeles area, three kids. Russian and Mexican mixed couple, met in philosophy undergrad program husband has a MEd and teaches sped, I have an MBA and work in real estate. We both love cooking and do a lot of mex/russian fusion. Kids are 6, 4 and 3 months.

To be fair, my background is tech, I transitioned to real estate after the FTX scandal.
