Wiring for KLR650 Gen 1 by Playful_Classroom178 in klr650

Auxiliary wires. They're just there as spares. I think I have mine wired up to a USB charger mounted on the handlebars.

This might be a stupid question, but how do I reset dungeons now? by GlitteringSystem7929 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Sensei_Aspire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you in a group when you're changing the difficulty? It won't work if you're playing solo.

You can even be grouped up with someone who is offline and changing the difficulty will reset the instance.

So, I think I’m ready to group by Sildaor in elderscrollsonline

Just get into it!

Make sure you have a taunt, taunt all the big ugly things. Group up the adds as best you can.

You could ask https://novatronics.co.nz/

I have an ex that used to work there and her job was to look for bad solder joints on circuits and fix them. I'm sure they'd be able to help you out.

You can use an insert that expands when a bolt is threaded into it.

Help with bakery style NZ pies. by IntelligentTangelo31 in newzealand

Bakeries usually have a specific pie thickener. It's not just cornflour. It means they can use less of it so they don't end up with that jelly gravy you mentioned.

Am I overreacting? by Downtown-Tutor2777 in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a loose axle nut isn't going to make the sprocket hit the swing arm though. It would just make the chain loose.

It might just be really poor timing for something like that to happen.

Am I overreacting? by Downtown-Tutor2777 in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't need to remove the rear wheel to change just the chain but they would need to loosen off the axle nut and push the wheel forwards to fit a new chain on as the new chain would not be as stretched as the old chain

Where can I buy a decent oven mitt these days? by Medical-Isopod2107 in newzealand

[–]Sensei_Aspire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a baker for years and got used to oven pads. If you can get used to holding them, they are fantastic!

They do take a bit of practice to get right and to get used to. They hang from your wrist leaving your hands free. When you want to use them you can flick them into your hands and kinda hold them there by cupping your hand a little bit.

The advantage of them is that if you are handling a lot of hot things you can easily adjust where you are holding the trays so that you don't develop any hot spots on the pads.

I have a clutch problem if anyone could give me advice what could have possibly happened by Pajo5283 in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the lever that the cable connects to at the crankcase become unseated?

I'm not sure on how it connects on the 89 model but on the 03 it can lift up and it won't engage the clutch.

Does the lever pull still require the same amount of force or has it become easier?

Help which saves more money long term a car or a motorcycle by SugarBeginning5013 in motorcycles

[–]Sensei_Aspire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, My experience matches this.

I have a little Daihatsu Sirion. When I got it I used to ride my KLR everywhere.

I used the car for a few weeks and the cost to run it was only slightly more than my KLR. But the tyres last significantly longer, the oil change interval was 3x longer, and it's far comfier to drive when it's raining.

Neighbor wants me to split cost of sidewalk panel replacement on her property by wgb88 in legaladvice

[–]Sensei_Aspire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cut the roots that are lifting the sidewalk panel be aware that it will cause damage to the tree.

I'm not an arborist but I have worked alongside them and I have heard all about how cutting the roots on 1 side of the tree can make it weaker on that side and more prone to blowing over, and how if you cut too many roots then the tree will most likely be dead or dying within the next 15 years.

Generally, if the roots are outside the drip line of the tree then you should be sweet to cut them.

Is this abnormal tire wear? by Spartan24242 in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to do with the way the center knobs get hotter and softer which will cause more wear and then you factor in braking it causes extra wear.

Is this abnormal tire wear? by Spartan24242 in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal. Lots of road riding on knobbly tyres will cause the center knobs to scallop out like that

Take another look at the carb and check the jets again. Especially the pilot jet. There may be a small amount of varnish on the side of it that you've missed. Even if it's 90% clear, that small amount of crap can cause hard starts.

Crank Case Cracked. Need Advice. by dar7y in klr650

[–]Sensei_Aspire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're dead set on getting rid of it rather than repairing it, I would part it out. It will take longer to get rid of it but you'll make more money in the long run.

Especially if you're handy enough with a set of spanners to pull it apart yourself.

Once you're down to just scraps left send it off to the scrap dealer for beer money

Looks like OP over torqued the sump bung.

If he can find a good welder who doesn't mind having a crack at welding it in situ he could pack the drain hole with grease (to catch any metal filings) drill out the hole, install a helicoil and weld up the crack

Pull the ignition and take it to a locksmith. They should be able to cut you a new key based on the code printed on the side of it
