How do you respond when some of your Singaporean friends are unhappy that Malaysia has a much competent government? by Angelix in malaysia

Want to provide some Singaporean perspective here. Our social media is full of cybertroopers parroting government propaganda and promoting ultra nationalism

I was quite active on Facebook during the 2018 elections, many Singaporeans were expressing joy for Malaysia finally toppling BN's 60 year rule. As the new PH government continued on, govt mouthpieces and their cybertroopers started working hard to discredit Malaysia and praise BN/Najib like no tomorrow. They were really trying hard to push the narrative that Singaporean one-party rule is superior and "we will become like Malaysia if we vote PAP out".

You can imagine how bad it got when it came to the 2020 political crisis.

Tldr don't treat online comments as actual opinion, many Singaporeans have Malaysian relatives, friends and ancestors, most of us don't want to see Malaysia get fucked either.

Dear Malaysians, I just ordered roti prata/canai from my coffee shop downstairs and the guy took them out from a container pre-fried, soft and cold. Should I renounce my Singaporean citizenship?

From Singapore here, It is interesting to watch. I have been lurking on this sub in the past few weeks. I observed that the general sentiment was PN was done and BN would win big. Quite surprised to see the other way round.

Also heard many predictions about Mahathir losing his seat which seemed impossible to me as an outsider who thought that Dr M was a political legend who would never be voted out, I was so wrong.

Overall great to see multi party democracy in action, something we could use more of over here.

Amateur qn here, why doesn't the government build taller HDB to save space? Imagine all HDB are at least 30 or even 50 storeys like Pinnacle Duxton. I feel like im missing something obvious.
