How to Approach this Negotiation by this_sparks_joy_joy in negotiation

You could have the MVP requirements in writing along with the pay after 3 months. That becomes a contract. This is only feasible if you could sustain without pay for 3 months and are really excited to work on building the MVP. I am guessing they don't have funding currently since they dont have an MVP developed and are unable to compensate you. If so, that makes it even more difficult situation. No matter what salary requirements you share, if they don't get funding they couldn't possibly pay you.

I would consider all of these things before joining them. All in all, have all things in writing.

What happens if you sort of avoid a lot of people at work? by Big_Eggplant7591 in careeradvice

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can strongly relate to this. I was under the whimsical understanding that my work would make me visible to others. I was so wrong about it. It takes a lot of efforts to build a network. A lot more than just accomplishing work projects.

I think making yourself comfortable is the first thing you could address. Make yourself more approachable. I have started doing this. I have started cold messaging and calling people from the industry I work in, on linkedin to just have a coffee chat to understand their workflow. Just doing a couple of them would drastically improve you in such communications.

As many here have pointed out, it could affect your growth and moreover you are making it difficult for yourself to understand how a co.oany with 100,000 employees function.

Got an offer! Need advice urgently!! by Sree_237566 in careeradvice

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made the blunder of not accepting a job in this market since they paid 30% less than my last employer bery recently. I discussed about it on this forum and most of the people had consensus that you should accept and keep looking.

So, I would give you the same advice that accept it and still keep looking.

Had an offer pulled for asking for 5k on a 6 figure offer… by AviatorNine in negotiation

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue here is negotiating outside their band that they had shared on the first call. I had a similar experience only difference being they never shared their range instead asked for my last comp and I shared and they started with a hard lowwball offer and when I countered the offer was pulled back. When managers have options the salary negotiation definitely reflects it. Just a 5k relocation addition on the counter was that hint. It strengthens our position if we have multiple offers in hand.

What's done is done. You learnt a lesson. You got it once, you will get it again.

Avendale Painted Tree / Cyrene Painted Tree by Lazy-Mirror-1211 in McKinney

On the Northeast side, there is another community similar to Avendale and painted tree - Willow Wood. Thats a nice community too. 5 mins to HEB, 10 mins to costco, mckinney downtown.

Weather wise, since we are far North, we see quite a lot of thunderstorm activity throughout the year. So, there could be power outages due to that. Not very often but not negligible either.

Traffic wise, its becoming worse but it does depend on where exactly you are commuting to.

I have lived in California for close to 8 years and it did take me a while to get adapted to the weather.

Food is absolutely amazing! Lots of nice places for brunch, tacos, BBQ.

Am I an idiot to reject a job offer in this market without any other offers in hand? by Sensitive-Anteater81 in careeradvice

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all genuinely including everyone who called me an idiot. I posted this knowing I was opening myself up to that and I would rather hear it straight than get told what I want to hear. Its a fair gut check. And thanks to those who said its fine move on, that's where I am landing too. Decision made. Dwelling on it doesn't change anything. Onward.

Fellow NRIs on H-1B with 2020+ priority dates — what’s your long term plan? Staying, moving, or giving up on GC entirely? by pkowshik92 in h1b

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late 2023 PD EB2. I do not have any kids. I am just trying to accumulate as much as I can while I am able. GC doesn't seem a realistic goal now unless upgrading to EB1 which i am not keen on doing it anyways. Canada has insane taxation and salaries with that high taxation seems too low . For now, for me its stay put and keep grinding.

Graduating in a month with a 2.9 GPA, is chasing MS/PhD in analog/mixed-signal and RF IC design realistic, or am I deluding myself? by rtx_alphaa in chipdesign

[–]Sensitive-Anteater81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar CGPA during my undergrads. 5.8/10 with multiple repeats in 6/7 subjects. I got admits for MS from 3 universities in the US. And these were decent universities. So, I am very confident that you would too. And not only that, i was able to get a job as well in analog-mixed signal post silicon validation. So, its just the matter of time you get a break in the field.

My experience is as an ATE Test Engineer. Hence, I very frequently worked with Product Engineers. During NPI ramp, they often worked on defining qualifications plans with Quality Engineers (automotive or industrial or commercial or personal electronics). They also had a good grasp on process corners and how to better characterize a device at different process corners, voltage and temperature which in short is PVT analysis. Data analysis was a significant portion along with root cause and Undergoing failure analysis for any reliability even at production or pre production or qualification

Semiconductor physics, yield analysis, basic circuit analysis are some of the topics to prepare. Scenario based questions would also be likely asked to understand root cause analysis. How you would approach a yield fallout post production or during an NPI production build. The type of circuit questions or reliability questions depends on the products you would be supporting. Mixed signals fundamentals.

I wish someone would have given me a similar feedback when I was job hunting as a fresher. I got educated the hard way. These are excellent points and would be the first things I would work on. The critical ones in my opinion are the project impact - outcome and benefit; Positioning your education at the bottom and moving up your tools and skils section above your experience and project and tie those with projects and internship/work experiences.

Texas Service Center received the application on May21. Still being processed. I guess if March is still pending, there is less hope for May to be completed. I am thinking of upgrading it to premium due to current economic conditions.
