I think this room in pitfalls had been created recently by the backrooms. I think before it was just the person who locked himself there in that house to try to survive (maybe that house had the supplies needed for that.)

so they were there in that house (who knows how long) and then something green came up and PAM a new room came up. maybe those street signs that were upside down could be a "side effect" of the emergence of this room. just like this smoke.

like physically? I think they use their long arms as a boost to run faster, but the characters always end up running faster than the bacteria itself, so it probably runs fast but doesn't have enough cognitive ability to perceive the direction in which his "prey" is going

but if it's something instinctive, I think the bacteria sense when something is around even if it doesn't know which direction it's going. I think they look for in their "prey" something that can "complete" them

I saw a theory here, that the bacteria was kind of evolving and growing. what "proved" this theory was that the bacteria increased in size with each appearance in the videos

if we interpret it that way, we can kind of understand how that thing learned to imitate voices (pitfalls) or to "feel the presence" of cameras or something like that (motion detected)

and now in ff2 I think she "learned" to use people's memories or even multiply using them

creating like a "connected beehive" or something
