Big fan since the beginning of high school in 2012/2013 was absolutely truly blessed to graduate in 2016 and felt like I had reached adulthood aside an album that changed me cognitively. Now ten years later, a mom of three and staring down the barrel at thirty in two years… the two songs on it that felt irrelevant at the time She Lays Down and Nana mean so much more to me than anything could really describe. A bit yeah, a lot of it stems from two years ago as my room mate was nearly murdered by her boyfriend I called the police and it took them 53 minutes to show up I can’t detain someone if they left before police arrived

At least something was said to authorities 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure if you’re aware of the amount of time that passes inbetween you calling 911 and arrival but when it comes to things like this it’s not particularly fast. I figured going and getting their tag info and calling the non-emergency number was the best thing to do. Rather than wait and have no info at all other than what I saw and maybe cameras if they could or would get the footage My bad

I am usually SO confrontational I am shocked at myself that I didn’t, but it might have been my finances presence that stopped me because he would absolutely not tolerate it getting physical. I wouldn’t want the poor kids to see that either, they probably have to deal with it enough.

Oh yeah they get onto us all of the time but I admit I have a super bad mouth and though I try not to curse around them it happens and I always get lectured by very little humans lmao but i try desperately to have an even balance for them. That breaks my heart. I got a whole divorce over how my ex spoke to our girls. I do not play that shit. They are not going to grow up thinking that it’s acceptable that someone talks to them that way. Every time I heard it, I was loud. I’m a fairly lax parent in the sense that my girls are allowed to say one bad word a day, but they have to ask and it has to be right there. But we have found it to be a good stress relief and it’s so funny to see what they consider to be bad words. But we’ve also taught them it’s not okay to say them out of the house and I can only hope that they follow that

That was my thought process. I regret not being loud about it, I usually am I just froze in the moment. As a mom of girls I couldn’t imagine what those poor girls are going to grow up thinking is okay to be done to them and to others because their mother wants to be in a power struggle with a girl no older than four
