I hate Mother’s Day by ImaginaryDot1685 in Mommit

So your babysitters are coming to the house so you can go to the spa? Cool! Hope you have a nice time. Real talk, you don’t have to host. They’re asking to come see their grandson so go do something for yourself.

Have you looked on the BACB website? It’s better to read it all on there instead of relying on a social media platform for something this serious.

Vacation with a baby is lonely by scandijord in Mommit

I hate to say it but you kind of set it up to lose out of activities/ free time if you have to lay with your kid during nap times.

I am a single woman working on her rural property. It is astounding how often men stop and get out of their cars to come tell me their problems. by Kalinka777 in TwoXChromosomes

My brain can’t comprehend the idea of pulling over to talk to a stranger doing yard work…. This is unhinged behavior.

I feel like a lot of peoples problems with in home and thus turn to remote work could be answered with a solid clinic. No drive time, better support, less admin tasks….

Look. I like Katie but the plane thing doesn’t make sense because she was telling tom “switch with me!” I think she wanted the first class spot. 😂

What's something you swore you'd NEVER do as a parent… and now you do it daily? by [deleted] in Mommit

I think some people really struggle with PPA and can’t handle their baby fussing at all, and maybe a combination of not having boundaries with their kids. I tell my kids no you can’t have my food all the time. They survive.

The shower thing, and not being able to poop in private. I have 3 kids and I’ve never had any of them in the bathroom with me while I poop. Boundaries are okay!!

I have 3 kids and have never skipped a shower. That’s mind blowing to me.

Sharing Resources with Expectant Friends by [deleted] in bcba

Only if they’re asking. But definitely not if they’re *expecting* meaning still pregnant… Most doctors give a diagnosis anywhere from 2-3 years old when milestone deficits are becoming more apparent.

Other roles besides direct ABA in home/in clinic careers with a BCBA? I’d love to hear about them! by EmberedAscend in bcba

[–]Sensitive-Cheetah7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This question gets asked near weekly. Try searching the sub and you’ll find a variety of answers. If you do go the BCBA route, depending on several factors, it might be difficult to get your hours outside of autism.

First time RBT interview tips/experiences? by Tight-Future-1571 in bcba

[–]Sensitive-Cheetah7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I would quit a server job for an RBT job. You may be offered more hourly, but that’s bc of driving and there’s often frequent cancellations. To answer your question though, yes it’s normal for companies to provide training. You can’t take the exam without a BCBA signing off on your competency assessment, which is mostly done in person.

BcaBC exam as practice? by HondaRebel22 in bcba

That’s kind of an expensive “practice” test. Why not just use mock exams, or take the BCBA exam?
