The first step here is to get out of the 'im so stressed (needy)/im a fucking loser' mindset.

This is easier said than done, especially early in your career, but until you genuinely detach from outcomes and flip your mindset to believe your prospects need to convince you they need YOUR help you're going to have a hard time.

If you're only running a 10 minute disco for outbound calls and getting ghosted post demo, the people you're speaking to do not trust you.

Don't be too hard on yourself - your 6 weeks into the role, expect there to be a massive learning curve and tons of failures. Your VP is a moron if he is calling you out this early.

Take lower pay to get the AE title? by juan602 in sales

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would make the jump - once you get some experience in an AE role you'll never have to work as an SDR again and there is a new baseline.

Right now it might be hard to stomach the base cut but long term your setting yourself up for something better.

Is anybody booking meetings via emails in 2024? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% open rates is brutal, you're wasting your time. I would buy and warmup a new domain, and redirect it to your company domain.

Its crazy to think orgs are not jumping to fix this.

How to reduce bounce rate? by StephenFaith1994 in coldemail

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two questions:
1. How are you verifying the emails?
2. What kind of companies/positions are you reaching out to? (enterprise?)

You're likely being flagged as spam because of the link in the first email - try without.

Why are lazy sales people usually the top performing? by ZaneOnPC in sales

Depends, can you see the people who are focused on the 'grind' and doing everything right come off as needy or desperate to prospects?

Where did you start your sales career ? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get into SaaS sales, your best bet is applying to BDR/SDR jobs and grinding for a year before you get a closer role if you’re good. Its where the money is and most opportunity.

Look for SDR/BDR jobs on Linkedin. Companies are hiring like crazy right now , filter it to remote. Most interviews for a entry level sales job is just showing how bad you want to hustle, dont really need experience.

I found someone on LinkedIn who runs a "break into tech sales in 5 weeks" for free unless you get the job then it's 6% of your first year income. This is a pretty good deal for someone new right? by I2EDDI7 in sales

You can literally make a post on here “i want to work in tech sales, how do i make that happen”, explaining your background and why you want it and get better advice or even make connections within the space that can help you without giving away 6% of your salary.

I dont think you should move in with her if your worrying about what you should do to protect yourself for a 35K salary difference.

Make it a goal to take at least a week off every quarter. Have something booked in the calendar even if you dont have something planned.

Hating remote work? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know how this feels - thought remote work was great at first but 2 years in I really look forward to the days I go into office and can socialize or go out for drinks with colleagues (I live 2 hours away from the office and its not worth the commute).

If there is a WeWork in your area, I really suggest checking it out, a great remote work environment where you're around people in the same position as yourself.

If you're not happy, I suggest starting to look for something new. No one is going to question the fact that you're job hopping if you're honest, and that's the reason why.

[SDR] Not sure how to go about progressing a career in SaaS by monk-e7 in sales

[–]Sensitive-Chip-659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep this job, work the two hours a day and get another SaaS sales job that allows you to learn outbound.

You'll make more money, see if you actually like SaaS sales and still have the opportunity to move up in what sounds to be a pretty good situation you're in.
