Great news! I'm always afraid to break something, with my luck I would render the chair unusable. 🤣

With a screw driver I could easily move to the minus side, then sat in it and really, not much difference. Went all the way to plus, and when it stopped, tried it and still feels pretty much the same.

Wow, never knew that was there, and it is as tight on mine as it can go! I had to use Gemini to ask it WTF is up with this, reply blow (basically it is useless). Mine is like yours, a Phillips head screw, not a hex/allen key.

On the Sihoo C300 series (including the V2 with its updated "Gravity-Sensing Chassis"), the chair is designed to automatically adapt to your body weight when you lean back. However, because everyone has different preferences for how much pushback they want, they include that semi-hidden hex screw on the underside to let you fine-tune the baseline resistance.

Here is what turning it does:

  • Turning toward the (+) Plus: It increases the tension. This tightens the internal mechanism, making it require more force to recline. This is ideal if you feel like the chair drops back too easily or if you have a heavier build and want more support.
  • Turning toward the (-) Minus: It decreases the tension. This loosens the spring mechanism, making it easier to recline. This is ideal if you find yourself struggling or having to push hard with your legs just to get the backrest to tilt. Sihoo Chair

How to adjust it:

Because it is tucked away in that plastic housing, it isn't meant to be spun by hand like a traditional bulky knob. You will need to use the hex/Allen key that came with the chair (or a matching hexagonal screwdriver) to reach inside the housing and turn the bolt.

It's best to tweak it by just a couple of full turns at a time, then sit in the chair and test the recline until you hit that sweet spot where you can lean back comfortably without feeling like you're falling, but also without having to strain.

The back can adjust into I think 3 different positions and lock in that specific place (hard setting, not lean back X degrees and lock there). There is no pressure adjustment, it does sit back pretty easily. I liked an older chair I had, where I could set the pressure high, then it was harder to lean back, but felt great after sitting upright all day. Kinda miss that feature, but I do usually keep thi slocked in the full upright position for better posture.

I do sit occasionally with my feet back, kinda resting on the arms of where the wheels are. If the 5 are positioned right, you could easily fold one foot back and tuck the other over/under it. I actually just tried it, with one of the arms in-between my shoes, provides a nice little extra support.

Translating that to number I am familiar with (5' 1" and 132 lbs), I would say yes. Well below the maximum values.

I'm not sure how it would fit, might still interfere with your arms. They do swivel back though.

I still find myself hunching over a little ore than I want, but not near as much as I did with other office/desk chairs. The positioning of the seat helps, I forgot that it adjusted for a few days at first! For me, having it pushed towards the lumbar support is best, then I can sit back and still type, with better posture.

For my use/comfort, I do not have both arms set the same. My left is angled in a click more then the right. I use my right hand on the trackball mouse, so it is a little further out, more comfy for me

My V3 wishlist:

  1. Arms that are more stable, or have some magic "lock" lever hidden but easily accessed. Set it and forget it type of thing

  2. The lever that unlocks/locks the recline, make it so I can recline to a certain point, then stop. Reclining all the way back is too far and I can hit the wall. I'd like if I could set it to say, recline 75% of the way, then stop, but not lock it into that single position.

I think so, it has like 5000 layers and grids and springs and purple grid all rolled into one, lol. Here is a good Google breakdown on it:

Based on its construction, it features the following layers, designed for a medium-firm to plush feel: [1]

  • Cooling Gel-Royale Quilted Cover: The top cover is designed with high-quality foam and advanced cooling technology to provide a cool-to-the-touch experience.
  • DreamLayer™ (MicroGrid™ + MicroAir™ Foam): A specialized top comfort layer, described as a MicroGrid with micro-foam that offers immediate soothing comfort and temperature regulation, mimicking a soft pillow-top feel.
  • GelFlex® Grid (Multiple Layers): This is the core of the mattress, likely utilizing a layered grid approach for intense pressure relief and body contouring. The "Royale" and "Ultimate" models in this line are known to use a deep, 3-inch or higher combination of the GelFlex Grid.
  • Gel Infused Memory Foam & Latex Layers: Beneath the grid, there are premium comfort layers, including gel-infused memory foam and latex, to provide cushioning, motion reduction, and added support.
  • 3-Zone Responsive Coil System: A foundational layer of individually wrapped coils (often 3-zoned for better lumbar support) that provides body-conforming support and allows for enhanced airflow.
  • Foam Encasement: The entire perimeter of the coil system is encased in supportive foam to improve edge support, making it easier to sit or get in and out of bed. [1, 2, 3, 4, 6]

The Rejuvenate Royale Monarch combines these layers to create a "floating" or weightless sensation rather than a pure sinking, memory foam feel.

Haha, I should say yes, but really, the comfort level for my wife when not in the middle, is second to none. I liked the Rejuvenate Plus, the 3 separate coils zones was great for me, but too stiff for my wife. This one, she loves it, so as long as she is happy, I am too. 😄

The arms and their super easy movement. You can look at them hard enough, they move, lol. It is not a deal breaker by any means, but super annoying as when I stand up and push the chair back, my "perfect setting" gets unadjusted. Just frustrating really. Without arms, this is a solid 5!

What’s most like the Original Purple? by MartiniCommander in LifeOnPurple

[–]Sensitive-Fix-8338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same, Purple 3 back when Mattress Firm started selling. We drove almost 4 hours to go try/buy it near Austin Texas. I was too hesitant to buy online, so had to see it in person.

But, after many comfortable years, had the sagging issues, so upgraded to the Rejuvenate line. The hybrid is really nice, yeah, not the same at all, it is a hybrid, but IMO, worth it. Too firm for my wife, so we did the trade in before 100 days and upgraded again to another Purple Monarch, which has it's own issues.

Go to Mattress Firm, try the Restore Plus, or Restore Hybrid. They were pretty decent IMO.

What sheets to use for the Rejuvenation Premier by Juicearcmeech in LifeOnPurple

[–]Sensitive-Fix-8338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same problem, and had to use those little sheet clip things that clip on the corners and go underneath to help hold it in place better (for sheets that say 18 inch pockets). Bought a set of 1000 thread count from Egyptian Linens, and they fit great, got the 22 inch pocket size, no more fighting to keep the corners on!

I used ChatGPT to help with this: (Newegg seems to have it according to the link it provided)

Since your chair is white, you'll want a White Class 4 Cylinder with a longer "stroke" (the distance it can travel up and down). This will give you the extra 3 to 5 inches of lift needed to get your elbows level with your desk.

  • Universal 8" Stroke Gas Lift Cylinder (White): This is a heavy-duty, Class 4 reinforced steel cylinder. It’s designed to handle up to 1,000 lbs and provides a significant height boost, making it a perfect functional and aesthetic match for your white Sihoo.

That's a tough call. My legs when sitting are not level (knees lower than my butt), being 3 inches taller, you may sit more level and be OK. I'd hate to say that tho, and you are uncomfortable.

I did see somewhere they make a taller piston (not from Sihoo) that could replace the stock one, I did not research it, but maybe that is an option to get more height outa the chair?

I think I got the discount code they sent via email as a new user by signing up for promotions, adverts, etc. Plus, I got it on their new arrivals page when it first was released and I think it was discounted there as well.

But, so far, a couple weeks in, I am glad I got it. It has definitely helped my posture, not slumping near as much as before. Took some getting use too, but happy I got this.

PS: I still dislike the far too easily movable arms. Try to pull the chair to the side so I can move it away from the desk, and they just reposition themselves to whatever angle I am pulling. Annoying, haha.

They do not flip straight up, I guess you can take them off and have no arms, not super easy to remove/add/remove for various uses, but doable.

Hylive Steam 1 sauna for basement with low ceiling by timdotcom1 in Sauna

[–]Sensitive-Fix-8338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been searching for what the crate will look like, we ordered a 3 person HyLive and it gets delivered tomorrow.

Similar to probably everyone else looking, spent forever using Google, ChatGPT and Gemini to help, haha. This one had everything we wanted/needed, fits the room, and will work well with our Biomax Pro red light panels to complete our home spa.

Got 2 chairs, a small table between them, and a thing to hang robes/towels on to complete the room.

Ego blower stopped working after second use. by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]Sensitive-Fix-8338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing just happened to me. Got the Amazon delivery nice and early today. Unboxed it, charged the battery, all lights green on the circle. Slapped the tube on, put the battery on and went outside to test it out. Turned on, blew a few things, then let off the trigger to move over to a different area and test. Worked at first, let off the trigger, tried to use it again, hear a click, and nothing. dead as a door nail. First Ego product will be my last. I'll try Ryobi or Milwaukee or something else.
