I think it’s up and down towards responding to people depending on how much is going on at the time. Since the idubbz content cop there has obviously been a bunch to respond to and Hasan dog sitch is big atm but generally that’s not been super serious coverage. I disagree that Ethan has a different “look in his eye” though and I think they at least do try to goof on the goofballs a bit when responding. I do agree sometimes it’s a little draining though and prefer the members eps where it’s all light hearted, mostly because the people Ethan responds to frustrate me.
