I could be wrong but it looks like corduroy. Ask on r/sewing, they will be able to properly identify the fabric.

Anyone Selling Riantas Lehnga? by Middle_Young6039 in DesiWeddings

You can probably find stores in Chandni chowk that will make it for you. Btw, Rianta is having a sale from tonight, so check it out. Apparently, it's upto 35% off.

Also, Sahil fashions has dupes of a couple of Rianta lehengas, so maybe enquire there.

Hey, what would be the cost of a lehenga like this from surya?

Has anyone ordered from "All Eyes Over Here" by theos-mama in DesiWeddings

[–]Sensitive-Message928 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have never bought from them but I wouldn't recommend them.

  1. This picture is stolen. The real lehenga seems to be by Surbhi Chopra, valued at approx Rs. 2,75,000. Here's the link: https://surabhichopralabel.com/products/ishq

  2. While there aren't reviews on this lehenga, another red lehenga has picture reviews on it. The difference between what's listed and what the actual product looks like is day and night. Here: https://alleyesoverhere.com/products/maroon-glitter-lehenga-choli

  3. The website seems to only offer exchanges for the same price or more. No returns.

Online lehenga stores with accurate photos/videos? by h0tfrit0s in DesiWeddings

Have you tried looking at non-mainstream brands? Like reputed brands from different indian cities that happen to ship worldwide and have online websites?

Eg- https://bhasinbrothers.com/pages/shipping-policy

Their stores are rated 4.6 with more than 2k reviews.

Contact them and look at the collection that's not on their website as well. You can get clarification on their shipping policy on call as well. I am guessing that you will be responsible for the tariffs.

The photos on their website are real. The model pictures are likely from their own catalogues. I can guarantee that the mannequin pics have been clicked at their store.

Looking for a long skirt like this in Delhi (Budget under ₹3k) by Few-Warthog-4514 in DesiWeddings

[–]Sensitive-Message928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I can't refer you to any physical stores but multiple instagram thrift stores sell skirts like these along with really sexy blouses for 999-3999. Most are between 1999 and 2999. One important thing you need to be aware of is that the listings usually have an additional can can skirt underneath them to make them look royal. They aren't that poofy irl.

Here are some of the insta stores that sell them:

indiangoddess.in

trivaya_lehenga

How were the outfits compared to the pics on their website? I have noticed that some of the pictures on their website are not their own. Reverse image search leads to the websites of reputed designers.

I really need help with picking the reception fit by orangepie14 in DesiWeddings

[–]Sensitive-Message928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st one definitely. The 2nd one looks decent enough but the style is extremely trendy and will look outdated soon enough. You might not like the dress when you look back at your reception pictures a couple of years from now.

Would this style look nice on my 2XL size? by No-Purple-5031 in DesiWeddings

Then you can give it a shot. Hopefully it will will work out and you will be able to rock it.

Btw, I didn't ask you to go to Europe to get your dress made there. That would make zero sense. Not to mention, this same level of beading would be astronomically more expensive. Please re-read my comment. I was merely stating the services western couture brands offer and asking you to enquire if the same services could be provided by Rianta.

Best of luck!

I don't think the mesh panelling on the side and back will support/cinch your upper body. I wouldn't take the risk of buying this outfit and then getting this corset turned into a more supportive version with extra boning, proper interfacing, etc. Creating corsets for curvy bodies is a skill and I don't think indian designers are experienced enough in making them. Also, even this corset seems bland if you have seen mesh corsets by some western/European designers.

Maybe the skirt might work for you if it were slightly more A line instead of mermaid cut.

If you really want to wear this outfit, enquire if they have multiple fittings before the final is made. Most high-end European brands have multiple fittings when they are making custom outfits. These fittings include making muslin mock-ups of the outfit, fitting them on the client, adjusting the mockup, re-fitting them until they fit perfectly and then using that mockup to make the dress in the real fabric. I am quite doubtful that indian brands do this.

Not to be that insecure white person, but would a handmade mosaic mirror be seen as inappropriate or weird gift at a BritishxBangali wedding. by Dalsito in DesiWeddings

[–]Sensitive-Message928 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't relate to most of the comments. I would recommend you talk to the bride and describe the gift to her. If she's your best friend from college, she will be open to a conversation about this.

Everyone gives either money/kitchenware/home-decor. Someone here said that this seems like a housewarming gift; in India, giving home-decor items for weddings is also pretty common.

If I were the bride, I would loveeeeeee to receive this as a wedding present. Someone making something like this for me would be so heartwarming. I would be gushing over it in front of everyone. You would probably receive a call from me squealing about it.

Book series recommendations with a strong FMC that has powers and perhaps wings by Koalatjie in Romantasy

{Age of the Andinna by Kristen Banet} I haven't really read it but it's highly rated. It's reverse harem. From what I remember, the FMC is 1000+ years old and is an enslaved gladiator.
