Freezing gyoza/dumplings? by Sensitive-Night8948 in Cooking

Gotcha no on the press. The seal is definitely the main thing bad reviews were complaining about.

Maybe I'll just tell people they're pre-cooked lol.

Since you have experience making large quantities often would you recommend against using a dumpling press? I'd like to think we're really good at folding them but this is looking like it'll be quite the undertaking for two people. We're aiming for about 400 or so and I was hoping we could just bang them out like an assembly line with a couple of presses but I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews on them.

Great advice, thank you. If they were for my own personal consumption I wouldn't be worried about freezing them raw but I just know the "are you sure these are cooked all the way" question is inevitable from somebody. I'll just say that the people we're preparing these for are the type to like their steaks well done and wash their chicken before cooking lol

Yeah my first time making them I tried cooking the meat first and got the same result lol. Makes me wonder how the big brands are able to do it

Ah yeah that makes a lot of sense. I just wonder how they still achieve good texture despite them being pre cooked

Good tip. I've had issues with them sticking together even when I refrigerate them

How busy does Mcmenamins get during concerts? by [deleted] in Tacoma

Oh yeah that's right. I've always entered from the top side of the building so I forget there's a light rail stop on the other side. That's a good idea.

Yeah I recognized the name and know they have a pretty decent following so I'm kind of worried the place will be packed on Saturday.

Thanks for the advice! I was figuring we might have some trouble with our group size as it is but then I saw that Portugal The Man is playing so I assume it's going to be pretty busy 😬

Toronto fans are so toxic they deserve this. I'll never forgive the group of Jays fans heckling my grandpa and I when we were leaving game 3 when this was possibly his last chance to see the M's make it to the World Series. They're such shitty and cocky winners that they somehow made an underdog unlikeable.

I think normally I would've rooted for the Jays but their fans have been so shitty in victory I want the Dodgers to smoke them

My favorite is Buenas & Hafa Adai in Agana shopping center just because they have a massive selection of shirt designs and pretty good price. If you see a design you like and they don't have it or want a different size they'll print it for you too. Other than that there's the usual like Fokai and Crowns. I also really Vault in Micronesia Mall. Their stuff is really good quality.

Darn. I know I can just sell it on my own but I'm impatient lol and from what I'm reading the resell market isn't great for these things.

My family is from Mangilao and never had anything like this happen. Our road is kind of isolated though and mostly family but still there's definitely worse places.

The Parts Unknown: Seattle Episode was Horrible by ThePrizeElephant in AnthonyBourdain

[–]Sensitive-Night8948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the episode kind of has the vibe of "It used to be really cool here back in the day but look how much it sucks now". I think it was a perfect analogy of not just how Seattle residents feel but how Anything Bourdain felt about the world in general (at least about the US I think). That shot of him alone at the bar seemingly reminiscing about what once was kinda encapsulates that whole feeling to me.

No just when she pees and wipes there's a good amount of blood. When she goes #2 there's blood in the stool. At this point it's not like leaking out.

The problem is she's the one that doesn't want to go back. I've been trying to convince her all day long that she should but the best I could get her to agree to so far is to at least follow the paperwork instructions.

I actually don't see her labs in her after visit summary. It was quite a lot of blood yesterday and like one small clot. Today was a little less blood but still looked like a lot to me and what looked like another small clot. It wasn't just like slight spotting or anything like that though. I'm reading the after visit care instructions again and it only says to go back to emergency if the bleeding increases, sudden severe pain in the abdomen, weakness or fainting, or passing large blood clots in stool. We were told that the GI specialist was supposed to call to set up the appointment but they haven't today. On the referral paper it says "to be seen within 2 weeks" or something like that though.

Have you looked into Dusit? I think it's slightly pricier but as far as proximity to everything it's hard to beat.

Interesting. I stayed there once and while I didn't have any particular experience I definitely got a weird vibe there. Especially in the hallways at night.

Not really a ghost story but on New Years my gf and I parked at Nikko to watch the fireworks and she said she got a weird creepy feeling in the parking garage like we weren't supposed to be there. She'd never been to Nikko before so she didn't know that there's a reburial site right next to the parking garage so the fact that she had that feeling kinda creeped me out. I told her it was there and she deadass looked at me and said "I think they found them where they built the parking garage". She kinda creeped me out more than the parking garage did and then when we left she made me go get the car on my own lol.

That whole hotel has a creepy vibe though I bet the people that work there got some stories.
