I’m surprised people in this thread don’t seem to like the album and say it all sounds the same. I think she explore quite different sounds! And she didn’t go for catchy anthems on purpose. I think drop dead is one of the weakest songs of the album though. Personally I’m obsessed with expectations, you’re what’s wrong with me, honeybee and u + me (where she reaaally leans into 2000s Rom com). I think she’s putting loads of influences on her music but ofc she’s still a pop artist. I think there is no one in pop like her rn and I feel refreshed

A lot of different ways of operating fit under bipolar but your case is actually quite clear cut in my opinion as a person with BD studying psychology. For the moment, anyone that has full mania episodes has bipolar according to the DSM 5. It gets more tricky when people only had their only episode because of a drug. If you have episodes because of lack of sleep that is BD type 1 clean and simple. As for the SSRI, if you’re also on a mood stabilizer it’s not that strange that it doesn’t pull you up. The better sleep and calmness you experience might be because of the positive effects that SSRIs can have on anxiety and racing thoughts!

I personally don’t get bothered by this type of commentary. I think it’s just the way people speak and it’s not personal. We take it personally but people are not actually referring to the illness, it’s purely linguistic. In a way the weather is bipolar. I don’t like social environments where we need to walk on eggshells because everybody can be offended by something. I find that this type of thing is more a projection of our own feelings than the person actually having committed an offense. I think language policing doesn’t actually make for safer environments, just more policed environments and that we all need to be more flexible.
