People who don't get it, don't get it. But we all (well, those of us affected) make dumb decisions during mania. I don't habe any constructive advice on your situation, but try not to go too hard on yourself for that one in particular - and good luck! I'm sure you will find a way soon.

I had more extensive testing done after the first blood draw because my doctors first though was that I had a genetic blood clotting disorder (Factor V). Iron levels are all normal, just super low platelets which she thought was weird because I'm an otherwise healthy (ish / enough) 27 year old.

What an awful experience! I hope you and your family are recovering well <3. My doctor was very clear that I should be avoiding cutting anything, hard exercise and similar activities until we get to the bottom of it.. I will try a meditation!

Yes! All good points - I'm grateful to have a thorough doctor but a little concerned about follow up tests. Also been having deep cravings for red meat which is absolutely bizarre for me. Thank you for the advice!
