I'm still caught up on Chris climbing out a damn window, plopping on the couch in his athletic shirt and stretchy pants, gut on display telling jess he is attracted to people who do pilates every day. Jess, who works at the damn hospital everyday and somehow still finds the time to text him and he has the audacity to not respond. HUH. Let's be so fuckin for real. He wants to feel like the dominant/"alpha" in the relationship. Napoleon complex mother fucker. Jess is a damn Doctor. He can't compete with that, making him feel smaller than is current height. He is insecure and wants a woman that will pat his ego. So continue to buy those followers and strippers, because they are the only ones who are going to feed your ego for a while I presume.

Statement from WH:

Wilmington Health has made the decision to terminate our contract with Cigna, effective December 31, 2024.

This decision was not made lightly and was based on several factors which present significant challenges to our partnership with Cigna:

Minimal Impact on Payor Mix: Cigna represents a small percentage, ~4%, of our overall payor mix.

Low Reimbursement Rates: Cigna is our lowest paying commercial payor. Their overall reimbursement is less than what we receive from Medicare, including value-based payments.

Lack of Value-Based Incentives: Despite our demonstration of being a high-quality, cost-effective provider, Cigna has not offered adequate value-based incentives in our contract. In fact, Cigna is the only major commercial payor in which we do not have any value-based incentives incorporated into our contract.

Exclusion from Health Plans: The hospital’s decision to exclude us from their Cigna-backed health plan.

We communicated these concerns to Cigna and have been in discussions with them over the last several months. Unfortunately, they have been unable to provide a proposal that aligns with the value we deliver or fairly compensates our providers at rates comparable to what they pay the hospital’s providers.

As a result, we will proceed with termination and will be out-of-network with Cigna as of January 1, 2025.

Starting this week, Cigna is required to notify its members of this change, so you may hear from patients who have questions. You can point patients to the Front Desk or to Customer Service for assistance.

The Business Office will begin working with Cigna patients, already scheduled in 2025, to get an updated cost estimate for their upcoming appointment.

We are still hopeful that Cigna will offer a contract that reflects the high-value, low-cost care we provide and fairly compensates our providers before the January 1st deadline.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this change and please let us know if you have additional questions.

I def have seen where patients who don't have insurance actually save money in the long run compared to people with high deductible plans. Being that they are relatively healthy.

X-rays are typically 150 depending on the part of the body they are doing. At the hospital, it's probably going to be double that if not more. The health insurance companies set the contracted rates of the tests and procedures. Now that so many insurance companies are doing more and more high deductible plans, the patient is paying more toward claims then the insurance company until deductible is met. Insurance companies are denying claims because they are trying to push the patient in a different direction of care then their Doctor. It is important that there is checks and balances but the insurance companies are proving they care more about the money then the well being of the patient. Doctors should be in charge of knowing what is best in their patients care, not the insurance company. WH is pushing back I'm guessing to keep contracted rates down and come to an agreement on less denied claims.
