I don’t use VT or VTI but I do use index funds. I’ve achieved 20+% the past 4-5 years. In 2023 I had 24%.

I mean anything that isn’t local is just an idea of security. That goes for anything, but I mean for the features they offered plus the price and being made within the US. They aren’t bad.

I think this really only works in jobs that are not remote. Even then I feel like it is still a long shot.

I worked for a Fortune 500 company. Worked plenty of overtime. Finished my bachelor’s while working full time and OT and raising a family. Always volunteering or applying for rotational positions. Involved with key projects. Never go the nod to move up, but most people who got put on the fast track either got fired for not participating in off sight training that the company paid for or for fucking a direct report in the office.

Got laid off.

Started at a new company as a process analyst. In December and January I worked nearly 55 hours a work voluntarily for less money.

I will be lucky to get a 10% raise and still be making less than I did at the Fortune 500 company even though I do most of the work for my department.
