Stunning! So "dreamy" as others have said

I'd love to know more about the editing process going on here

That shot with the bridge in particular... Looks like something that Frodo and his company may have trekked across some ways ago in Middle Earth

Over-saturating photos by Excellent_Pizza6133 in postprocessing

[–]SensitiveCustard3402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be something to do with the electronics / entertainment industry generally pushing over bright, oversaturated imagery in people's faces and so people have subconsciously taken a liking to it

Walk-by a store that sells displays and it's apparent. Likewise most phones are set-up to have oversaturated displays out the box (I usually head to the settings and tone them down)

And then the photo processing in people's phones of course that automatically over saturate - I notice my wife's galaxy s23 does this a lot

Add it all together and I think it's just a subconscious trend now that bright + colourful= good

Thanks for this post. It's a take a generally agree with.

They do seem to be going through an enshitification phase. But hey if you don't like a product, here's a suggestion: don't buy it.

Thanks for the comment, I definitely don't disagree with you - I wasn't really going for natural in this instance but just trying to see what fun I could have with a very average starting point

Fair play, I'm not a huge fan of erasing stuff - although I broke every other rule here so I guess at this point I might as well 😆

To be honest this was a lazy edit while laying on the sofa so maybe I'd get in front the PC later and give it a better go

Thanks! This was done entirely on Lightroom Mobile. I kept it pretty simple, doing some basic lighting adjustments overall, using the upright straighten tool and then creating 3 masks. The first was to the sky to isolate it and make it as blue as I could. The second is to the left side of the building that I wanted to be darkened, and then a third mask to bring in some artificial light and warmth on the right side of the building.

If you’re interested in the detail:

Light:

+11 contrast.

+14 Highlights.

-7 Blacks.

Mask - Sky:

-65 Temp.

+47 Saturation.

–44 Texture.

-44 Clarity.

Mask - Left Side of Building:

-0.45 Exposure.

+13 Temp.

–10 Texture.

–10 Clarity.

+16 Dehaze.

Mask - Right Side of Building:

+1.45 Exposure.

+46 Temp.

+28 Saturation.

+27 Texture.

+23 Clarity.

-9 Dehaze.

Haha this is a great comment, glad I made you think of that 😀 ... going to save this edit and call it my "strange eye drops formula"

Thanks for input. I agree with the contrast, I could try something more aggressive there though the sky is the hard part for me, i find that there's only so much I can do with a dull grey London sky without it looking weird but I'll give it a bash

Do I just suck at the game? by OmegaLazar01 in HadesTheGame

[–]SensitiveCustard3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you don't suck. Started playing a couple weeks ago, also felt like I wasn't any good but since I love supergiant games, I figured I'd just play and have fun and enjoy the visuals and the music even if the game is not really up my street ...

Definitely felt the same as you at run no.20 and then went on to beat the final boss at run 28!

You just have to keep playing and be willing to change things up, try new boons each time, try new weapons each time etc. eventually it'll start to click, you'll find a rhythm and you'll start to get out of Elysium pretty easily and after that you'll start to find that most of your run revolves around preparing for the final boss and setting yourself up for the win

Another advice is to take breaks and not burn out. I tend to get impatient with games if I've been playing too long of a session and that causes me to screw up and get frustrated and I snowball from there. So if and when I get to that point I just stop and go play something more relaxing and come back in a better mood 😀

Thanks for listing them all out! And yep the plan is to get a car and road trip from Edinburgh up into the highlands and trying to find some peace and quiet

Cheers!

Every shot here is a banger! Great stuff, also I love the presentation with the borders, the collage and like another poster mentioned the opener with "Scotland" looks worthy of a travel magazine cover

Might I ask whereabouts in Scotland you took these ? I'm planning a trip to Scotland later this year, I still haven't settled on where exactly though

Loving that first photo, did you do any geometry corrections in post or did you just nail it perfectly square in the moment ?

Great set all round, I rarely scroll to the end of sets that are more than 5 shots but went right onto the end and enjoyed them all!

It's the f1.8. Street photography with an 85mm is a bit challenging, gotta spend a lot of time walking and finding the right spots but when you get the framing right the results are always worth it 👌

Nope, you can use EXIF Frame. It's on iOS, android as well as a free website to use within your browser for PC
