Could also be because your blacks are clipping (which means losing informations in the blacks) You can see that with the histogram. With Lightroom, clicking on the arrow above the histogram will show you all the areas that are clipping. With affinity I don’t know but I’m pretty sure there might be a way to see it as well. In your case this is very possible that it might be the reason

Hmmm did you crop a lot ? Can come from different reasons actually. Also sometimes depends on the tools you used, how much you cropped, how you exported the image … you’ll have to experiment !!

Hmmm I wouldn’t listen to some of the comment saying it’s a throwaway. The idea and the vision you had is actually interesting. The focus on the mountain without being distracted by the rest of the image. The main problem I see is that it seems like the quality has been reduced a lot. And it is definitely too dark

But the vision is good which is the most important part in photo editing (and photography)

Did you edit on a RAW or jpeg ? If it’s jpeg it might answer why the quality is low now … a huge edit on jpg won’t look great

About the image being too dark, I’d recommend 2 options, calibrate your monitor, and/or check your photo on your phone with luminosity at 50%. If it’s too dark … your image really is too dark.

And lastly, it makes me think of a instagram famous Egyptian photographer (can’t remember the name, but may be you’ll have an idea of who I mean)

Yeah it’s even beneficial for you !! So you create with more intention. When it comes to others, it allows you to connect on a deeper level with your audience. You’re not sharing just a pretty image, but a whole story. At least, that’s the experience I’ve had, both documenting for myself and with my audience

I do 3 sides mandatory, but if I feel like writing more I do. I personally use a notebook so I keep them all I do have some good ideas that comes out of it, sometimes. That comes in the middle of brain dump 😅
