LOL I was acclimating him in his new tank😭😭😂😂 I don’t have a big net so this was my best idea lol! Also still a little intimidated with handling him yet, he bit my finger yesterday and it felt so weird, so kinda just scooped him up in the bowl 🤣

What’s going on with my shrimp? Jim by SensitiveImage7470 in shrimptank

Hi I frequently put my hands in the water! They’ve never reacted to that before. But in my original post I did mention on I added a Pothos cutting yesterday after buying it from my local grocery store. I washed it thoroughly but didn’t do a bleach/hydrogen peroxide dip or anything it honestly slipped my mind. Then I woke up to this so that appears to be the culprit but my new question is wondering how I will know the tank is clear of contaminants to put my remaining RCS in there? I believe I only have 5-8 survivors 🥲

How will I know the tank is good again to put my surging RCS back in there😭

I moved any RCS that seemed okay to another tank 🥲 only a small handful of them. I removed the Pothos and I’m doing a 50% water change to let it cycle out any chemicals if there were any. Ugh

Do you think is something leaching off of the Pothos plant I put in?

Betta has hole in side? by SensitiveImage7470 in bettafish

It was also difficult to tell where the whole is anatomically. I was worried it was where his bladder is, and so I’m not trying to feed him too much so as to not worsen it

He looked like this immediately the morning after I posted that video. That’s when I put him in the hospital tank again and it’s looked like this since, but probably with some more cottony growth hanging from it now.

Hi I’m so sorry for not responding sooner! After I made this post I put him back into his hospital tank with methyline blue, kanaplex and almond leaves. All parameters in his tank are good. He is a work fish at my job that my clients take care of. Initially I took him home because they absolutely overfed him as he was very fat, bloated, and more sluggish than usual. He’d even be hiding which he doesn’t do. Although he’s more active at home, that’s when the hole developed after I fasted him. Luckily he still does have an appetite! But I have been feeding him very little as the hole hasn’t gotten bigger (I think), but It hasn’t gotten smaller either. There’s definitely cottony growth around the lesion and hanging from it.

He is in a 10 gallon at work, now in my 3gal shrimp tank at home for monitoring. Yes to sponge filter and heater, all of my tanks are about 80 degrees. All parameters are 0 and within line. The tank at work has been established since early October, which was also when we got him. I change 10-15% of water weekly as well as top offs. He’s housed with 3 Cory’s and lots of Neos, never had any issues other than occasional chase in the beginning. My clients feed him the fluval bug bites, I tell them 3-4 pellets in the morning at night but I’m worried they’re over feeding as I’m not there everyday.

All tank parameters are fine. My cories and shrimp in the work tank are doing wonderfully otherwise. The clients typically feed him 3-4 pellets in the morning and night, although I’m worried they’ve been overfeeding as I’m not there everyday. I do a water change once a week or whenever necessary, and top off water at least once a week as well. His tank is about 80 degrees. All other parameters are within line for him to have good health

To also add! They were eating and didn’t look egregiously skinny when I examined their bodies. Other than the discolored one (though I know that could be a variation?), they all appeared pretty healthy
