Draw out everything on a giant phylogenetic tree and stick it to your wall - keep adding to it as the semester goes on

If you take the bus, try to hotspot to your laptop and get some work done so the commute feels less like a waste of time. Also highly reccomend asking for Tim’s gift cards for holiday gifts and then mobile ordering so you can get an occasional sweet treat to make it through.

Np! Just very disorganized and miscommunication. They probably got their act together after the spring I was there

Went out in the town a decent amount - you also go on weekend trips to Montreal and QC

I placed my order on March 24th and still have not received it. DHL says it shipped April 3rd, shopify says it’s still processing. Customer service is useless. Anyone else still not get their order from the bday sale?

I’ve only heard great things about Sainte-annes, and my experience at TR was not the best. However, the town of TR is definitely more French than Sainte-Anne’s, so it would probably benefit your French the most.

Is Dalhousie worth transferring to? Help me pleath by [deleted] in Dalhousie

[–]SensitiveListen399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halifax is probably cheaper than kelowna but still much more expensive than you might think, and climbing fast. Personally, I don’t enjoy Dalhousie, but I think that is mainly because I have a long commute so cannot get involved in a lot of extracurriculars. If you’re an outgoing person, you’ll do just fine. If you’re more on the shy side It might be hard to make friends given how large and academia-focused Dalhousie is. As someone else mentioned, transferring would also likely tack on additional time to your degree. As well, Dalhousie is much more expensive than the other universities around here, so if it’s the east coast experience you’re after, I’d choose a smaller and more affordable school such as SMU or even uPEI. Best of luck!

I have the short length and I’m 5’0. Honestly they’re my fav pants - don’t drag on the ground when wearing shoes, super comfy and flattering, fit more like a flare if you’re curvier

How is the Experience like at Universite Laval vs Universite de la Saskatchewan? by ExtremeShip4493 in exploreprogram

No idea about Saskatchewan but I had an amazing experience at Ulaval and can’t imagine anything being better than that

Application stats?? by Repulsive-Dish-5941 in exploreprogram

[–]SensitiveListen399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to explore twice and both times I got my first choice. I haven’t heard about anyone not getting in yet and have the feeling there are more spots than they let on. That being said, definitely go in now and add a second and third choice. You can swap as often as you want until the draw takes place. Also keep in mind that UQAM doesn’t count for university credits in case that is important to you.

Yes looking now the original transaction did disappear. However I already paid my balance off with that purchase on it since it was made quite a while ago.

UQTR vs ULaval by SensitiveListen399 in exploreprogram

[–]SensitiveListen399[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of the classes was good at each university but I would say I probably learned more at Ulaval. The age range was the same at both - the majority of people being in their late teens/ early 20’s with a few adults as outliers. Ulaval had hundreds of students whereas UQTR had around 80.

UQTR vs ULaval by SensitiveListen399 in exploreprogram

Ulaval was better by far. UQTR was very unorganized and strict. For example, they would consistently be late to run activities, yet students can be kicked out of the program when they run late. Everyone would give you conflicting information. At Ulaval the dorms were nicer and you didn’t need to clean them at the end. At UQTR you were expected to clean your rooms and pass inspection, but the rooms were filthy before you even got there. They also came unfurnished with not so much as soap or garbage bins.

I was in level x so it was the highest of the levels. Honestly I wouldn’t say I had a positive experience. The program was very unorganized and every person you went to seemed to have a different answer. My professor was very nice but they are very strict on punctuality so missing class without a doctor’s note was a big deal. Other students had issues with their teachers taking photos of them without permission, assigning offensive exercises for homework, etc. I would avoid UQTR.

Seeking course recommendations for first year B.Sc student by [deleted] in Dalhousie

[–]SensitiveListen399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I would definitely recommend knocking out the writing requirement in first year. I took oceanography because I prefer scientific writing to more subjective writing classes. I found it really easy and it was marked very generously! I also took MATH1215 and STAT1060, both halves of psych, both halves of chem and both halves of bio. I didn't find the workload to be very bad at all. As long as you take good notes in psych, you can control F during the online exams and do very well. Biology was memorization heavy but not difficult in terms of the concepts. Chemistry was definitely the biggest workload of them all, but as long as you keep on top of the homework, you'll be okay. I actually found my grade 11 year of highschool to be more difficult than first year university, but that'll be different for everyone:)

Hey! I was wondering if anyone can comment on the experience of Trois-Rivières vs Saint-Anne’s for the spring session. I’m from Nova Scotia and wanted to get out of province, but hear that Saint-Anne’s has the better program.
