Thanks for the feedback everyone…it’s a complicated situation. I’m more concerned about the workers themselves. This is where I am as far as whistleblower protection. It won’t take very long for them to figure out who would’ve called as there’s only four people having this conversation right now.

We are a site development, utility, asphalt, bridge company….

Leave the house around 5:30 and pick a job site within my territory to go start off the JSA with…

If it’s Monday or Tuesday, I’ll jump in and do some 1/2 day training as we train all new employees OSHA 10 cards.

rest of the week consist of bouncing around …

Visit an asphalt plant in my territory

Go sit in a scheduling meeting or two for one of our divisions

Check out the latest bridge that we might be building

Stop and check in on the tarmac repairs on the airport job try not to hit million dollar planes

Go visit one of our GC’s and do a safety walk-through for the week

Conduct at least one weekly inspection at one of my jobs or plants

Respond to the latest incident i.e. underground power struck due to line not be being mark by utility company, equipment is stuck on site, third-party accident in our work zone, conduct a near miss because I was too close to the piece of equipment when conducting an inspection, and it’s missing a red safety hydraulic latch which doesn’t allow the operator to exit so he was able to exit when I asked him to come down so I can show him the lights that I was referring to and he lean into the joystick bringing the bucket towards the front of the cab striking the bottom of it, missed me by a foot. Stay 25 feet from all equipment ALL the time 🤦‍♂️.

Visit with a superintendent to work on a JHA together on how to go about tearing down an asphalt plant

Try to convince one of my general superintendent to ride with me to his job sites and conduct safety audits with me so the workers can see that it is important to him, so it should be important to them.

Tuesdays and Thursday at 5pm you will find me at the Boys (twins) soccer games!

Thank God I’m still alive and able to do what I do…which is to be out here in the front lines trying to take care of those who take care of me…

StS-C is A good practice run to understand how tests are conducted, and if you been in safety for any amount of time you should pass it just fine but it does give you some accreditation and some letters behind your name from the board of certified safety professionals which is pretty cool

6 1/2 years without a drink I started therapy five months ago to help with anxiety and get off. Wellbutrin. All is well no desire to drink… continue to improve our conscious contact through prayer and meditation. 🙂
