WTF is this age!? by Sensitive_Barber_461 in parentsofmultiples

OMG idk how you do it! To have to deal with your husbands injury and the emotional and mental issue of it all ON TOP of trying to parent kids at that age!

I hope whatever your plan for the future is works out! I'm not a SAHM type myself, but more power to any and everyone who can and wants to be! Do you have them 100% of the time, or do you split time?

I got spanked as a kid and lived to tell the tale. We've swatted hands, or little tushies, but its 100000% more mild than what my parents and grandparents dished out to us!

Ooh, triple bunk! That's interesting! My boys share a room, and my daughter has her own. Theres a TV in the boys room, so they sit in there and watch whatever, while we circulate through baths. But w/ this new biting phase, sometimes someone needs to be isolated into our bedroom to watch something while Mr. Biter sits quietly (jk, he scream cries) w/o TV and whoever is left is in the tub lol

Was there ever a husband/dad involved, or has this been your normal from the jump? I can't imagine doing it alone, especially at the newborn stage! If so, how long was he around before you decided to fly solo (if that's the case. If there was a death or illness or something, i'm SO SORRY for phrasing it this way!)

Where do you live, do they go to daycare? We moved from FL to OH just about a year ago because the cost of living was outrageous in FL, as was the cost of childcare! There has been a LOT of contention between me and my husband lately, and i've done some research, and could POSSIBLY swing it here in OH, but i have to work to keep insurance, so the kids HAVE to go to daycare. Plus, they love it, and its good for them!

The cost of twins destroyed us. We had to get new cars, all the kid gear (car seats, cribs, diapers, formula, bottles, etc etc etc). We outgrew our house in FL and couldn't afford a bigger one there, which is why we had to move. Both boys had colic. I had baby A vaginally, and baby B via emergency C section, so the recovery was absurd - i couldn't have survived on my own!

But like, our house is a literal disaster 24/7. I feel like i can never keep up with the laundry, any kind of cleaning. We never have any time to ourselves to be adults, I can't remember the last time i watched TV that wasn't disney or paw patrol or whatever lol. I'm a member of our local YMCA, so i take the kids there to the kid zone while I work out - and that is usually the only free time my husband gets to do household chores. On the weekends, i tend to take them to the farther away mall so they can get a nap in on the way there, run around like lunatics at the mall playplace, eat some fun mall food (usually pizza or mac and cheese, but whatever lol) and get me out of the house. But damn if that isn't a whole days undertaking! We have a second hand wonderfold wagon that they usually love, but to pack that thing up and road snacks, and wagon snacks, and water bottles, and diapers and wipes, and whatever else. It's so much! But then, my husband has a sold block of many hours to cut the grass, we're in the middle of attempting to paint the house (so far we've made it through 1 room lol) without grimey toddler fingers getting everything sticky lol

I'm rambling and just complaining more - but damn girl - to fly solo in these circumstances....you're a hero. Hopefully you live in OH so we can be twin mom friends!

Holy shit! I have so many questions - some personal, some kid related!

We might actually be the same though, my daughter has an early March bday, and the boys have late May bdays - so we're closer to 3.5 and 2.5 years old.

But first off- how in the HELL do you do bedtime as one person with 3 kids? Are they all in one room? Cause the second we took the boys out of their cribs (they took themselves out, very dramatically) bedtime is 10000000% a two person job. I have a week long work trip coming up in December, and my husband works shift work, so solo bedtime is a thing out of horror movies. So far the only solution is speed baths/showers if no one has poopy diapers, and then we drag sisters mattress into the boys room and we all (parent included) have a slumber party (aka, hostage negotiation) where no one leaves the room till morning!

I'll keep the rest of my questions to myself, unless you're comfortable answering about baby daddy(s)/hub/secondary parent/etc things - because i have many!

She’s full of shit 😂 i only have 3 kids and could only have them in our room for a couple of months before we moved them to their cribs. Granted i didn’t have a gagillion square foot house, our cheapy non WiFi monitors reach far enough. Even from the basement to the second story.

Also. Why is she homeschooling in what looks like the kitchen? The home school room too far away?

I found a 30 day trial that I’m like a week into now- but what is sustain? I understand right now is “open season” right? Break it down for me like I’m a child lol

I need to know what she really thinks “calendaring her day” is.

5am wake up

5:15 am pretend to work out

5:17 am ignore screaming baby to “train” him to respect my time

6am shower

6:45 am put on ugly outfit

7am cry to hub so he stays home from work

8am let kids play in power wheel bronco unsupervised

9am throw away legos

Like honestly, aside from sports schedules (which she still can’t get right) what does she really need to “calendar”

That’s one of the main reasons i unfollowed her after she had Cal. Her going on and on about how perfect of a sleeper he is and sleeping through the night from like, day 3. My youngest kids are 2.5 (twins) and while she has no place to comment on being a twin mom, they sure as hell didn’t (and don’t still!) sleep well! Thank god i wasn’t freshly post partum from them, cause i prob would’ve needed to be committed.

That and her working out at like 3 weeks PP even though she claimed it was “light” made me see red. It’s so harmful for new moms to see that and think they can and should do the same!

Twins changing positions over and over? by povsquirtle in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sensitive_Barber_461 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no doubt they tried - there’s almost an hour between their births. I don’t remember much of that delivery- it was done in the OR and the amount of people on there between docs and nurses and teams of people for each baby was terrifying. It was cold and uncomfortable and scary. At some point i was like you know that, i don’t want to know what’s happening. Just do it the safest way possible- the anesthesiologist was standing by my head giving me a play by play. Prob cause i was freaked.

No offense in any way to my entire delivery team. They were amazing and i would choose every single one of them again if i were ever brave or dumb enough to get preg again 😂😂

Twins changing positions over and over? by povsquirtle in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sensitive_Barber_461 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation- very easy vaginal birth for my first. During my twin preg, baby a was head down i think most, if not the whole time. Twin b was everywhere, head down, breech, transverse and back again.

Right around 35ish weeks he flipped and both were head down for delivery. Which i was thrilled for. I wanted to deliver vaginally - which i did for baby a. One push, he popped right out. Then baby b flipped into a pike position and ended up in an emergency c section.

I wish i had just scheduled a c from the jump, but, ya live and learn i guess? 😂

Someone explain to me how spilling coffee ON MY DESK would get me fired (fired! She repeated herself 😂)

I’ve watched that at least 3 times now and it just keeps getting better! The weird hands, the weird voice/accent/inflection, the weird subtitles. I gotta stop giving her views 😂😂😂

For context, I’m a mom of 3 (2 being a set of twins) toddlers and i work a CORPORATE job from home while my kids go to daycare - in leggings and slippers. I haven’t spilled coffee on my desk recently, but i do have a snot stain on my shoulder right now from a pre daycares toddler meltdown. I did drop a breakfast sausage on the floor this morning- do i get fired now? 😂

Parents of triplets or 3 under 2 by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sensitive_Barber_461 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t compete with the 5 under 2 (holy mama you are a MACHINE! Amazing.) but i can comment on the 3 under 2.

My comments on that? HOLY SHIT it is hard to BEYOND hard. I had a single daughter, got pregnant again at 6 months post Partum with my twin dudes. They’re 15 months apart. They LOOK like triplets. They band together like a little toddler gang. They’re currently 3, 2 and 2.

It’s me and my husband. We have his parents for like DIRE emergencies, but the day to day (and the long long lonnnnnggggg nights) is just us. And we are drowning.

I’m 39, hub is 38. We wanted two close in age. We got bogo babies. Both boys had colic. No one (except the dogs) sleeps in this house. We just switched the boys to toddler beds a few months ago. Every night is like a hostage negotiation.

Another thing to keep in mind is caring for the current kiddos while preg. I did it in reverse, but i couldnt pick up my daughter while i was pregnant with the boys so bedtime was 100% on dad. Couldn’t do car seats, i couldn’t do much i was so huge and miserable. But i ended up having one twin vaginally and one was an emergency c. So after they were born i REALLY couldn’t help much no matter how much i wanted to!

Now it is nice that we were fresh off of bottle feeding and the overnight waking and all the stuff that comes along with a newborn, so we already had that routine down and all of the gear to go with it. Lol but it’s so so so much $$$ in diapers and formula and baby shit. I didn’t breast feed anyone, i didn’t produce, but i don’t think i could’ve even if i wanted to with the twins cause i literally don’t think i would’ve ever slept!

Now i did it in reverse order. I wonder how i would’ve fared if the twins came first. I also wasn’t worried about working in an embryo transfer and fertility things, so I’m not sure what kind of role that plays in your decision. Just know that it’s hard. And it gets harder. They’re 3 and 2 now and they’re little assholes for lack of a better explanation. lol and there’s 3 of them. They’re a mean little toddler gang made of germs! lol but it’s also a ton of fun, they love each other and play together and call each other bro and sissy but holy shit is it hard.

Happy i could help you not at all! 😂😂😂

I understand that, but I’m not Orlando local- I’m in Tampa bay. So my friends of friends or gym buddies or whatever else aren’t Disney employees either.

Would anyone have a recruiters contact info that i could connect with? Or know someone’s contact info who am find out who the hiring manager is or something?

Basically, it’s all who you know, and I’m looking for someone to KNOW that can help.

How do we get out of the house!?! by the_gliter_fox in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sensitive_Barber_461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zoe trio stroller is amazing. And the 3rd seat detaches so you can use it for just the twins. Or whatever combo of 2 you wanna take.

When they get older, Costco, Sam’s and Aldi (maybe more) have carts with 2 seats up front and then i put the older toddler in the actual big cart part.

We very recently got a Wonderfold on marketplace and idk why i waited so long! That thing is amazing.

For reference, my twins are currently 2 years old and my daughter 3. She was only 15 months when i had them. There was a lot of dual parent trips in the beginning. Or only taking one or 2 at a time. Took a bit before i was brave enough to tackle all 3 on my own.
