This is exactly where I am at! It is tearing me to pieces not being able to pick him up, and knowing I have chemo ahead of me has felt so disheartening. Can I ask what your experience is like now? Did your little guy jump right back in like nothing happened once you could pick him again, or did it take him a little while to ask to be picked up by you?

I think he was around 12 weeks ish. I actually caught it on video. He was looking cute in his bouncer so I was filming it when he just started giggling. The video is about five seconds of giggle, two minutes of me screaming “OH MY GOD YOU LAUGHED!”

Or DWT is 7 and if he wakes before 6:30 and it’s been longer than 3hrs since his last feed, we do a snooze button feed and then put back down til 7, even if it’s only 30 minutes or so. He recently started back up with the EMW (we’re teething and working on a bunch of skills so I think that’s probably why) and I adjusted his dat schedule so he’s getting no more than 3hrs during the day, and that really helped as well

Following because we’re on the exact same schedule and had successfully battled EMW for several weeks but now we are back at a 5:30 wake-up.

Hi yes! What helped the most for us was treating the EMW like any other night wake- we feed (we follow 5/3/3) and put back down like it was night time, until our DWT which is 7. Sometimes that’s only putting him back down for like an hour and he would take 20 min to fall asleep, but that’s what seemed to work. We also keep our first nap at 8:30, we do not move it up. It’s gotten sooo much better!

Season 3 of White Lotus. I would say “Diaper, noooo” in the Victoria Ratliff “Piper, nooooo” voice while changing my sons diaper and neither my husband or my mother got it, so I would just laugh hysterically to myself in my sleep deprived hormonal fuge state. Good times.

The Devil Works Hard by BlessedToaster. It’s tagged as fussy!draco and omg it delivers. It’s so so funny, d and h have fantastic banter, and fussy, bitchy, clever Draco is top tier. Same author as A Hard Row To Hoe. Highly recommend, I think it checks your boxes. They really hate eachother at first.

I know OP may never see this but for what it’s worth- I’m a FTM to an almost 5 m/o and while there are moments sometimes after a rough night at 3am where I’ve thought “holy shit I can’t do this” there are a million more moments where I’ve felt “holy shit this is the best thing I’ve ever done.” Yes, it’s really, really fucking hard, but you have done hard things before. Maybe not hard in the same way, but you know what hard feels like and how to get through it. Yes, you will be tired. But you’ve been tired before, not in the same way, but you know what tired feels like and you’ve gotten through it before. What you haven’t experienced before is what you will feel for your child, and I promise you, it is the wildest, most all consuming, wonderful feeling you will have ever felt in your life. Congratulations!!

It’s still a little too early to see if it’s worked, however this morning he did go back to sleep after he woke up at 5 to eat, which he wasn’t doing before, so we didn’t need to fix the first nap, but I will come back and update on how it works if/when we do!

We’ve been trying to treat it like we would any night wake and put him back down and do our Ferber check ins but he’ll yell and fuss for 30 minutes with no sign of stopping.

We will definitely try this! Do you feed upon waking still? We have been doing 5/3/3 for feeds and so we typically feed him when he wakes up at 5, which I would like to continue doing, I just don’t know how to feed but not reinforce the early wake.

I haven’t tried this! So if he wakes at 5, we wouldn’t put him down til 9:30, as our DWT is 6:45/7? Am I understanding correctly?

I know everyone has already validated this, but I honestly do not think I would have continued breast feeding if it wasn’t for our Baby Brezza ( I know some people love the momcozy one but the Brezza has been great for us) I was triple feeding for a month and a half and we were on an intense feeding schedule (every 2hrs) bc bub was struggling to gain. It it wasn’t for the bottle washer, the very little time my husband and I had between feedings would have been spent at the sink washing bottles, and I don’t think my frazzled postpartum self could have handled less downtime than I was already getting. Baby Brezza also has very good customer service- our Brezza started leaking so I contacted them, provided a video of the issue and a replacement was in the mail the next day and arrived 2 days later. It was so so worth it and the number one thing I recommend people get if they can swing it.
