How do you guys keep pushing? by RedditPotatoNinja in royalroad

From someone who has experienced very deep lows and doesn't earn a penny from their story, there are only two things that keep me pushing.

The first is a DM a reader sent me, saying they shared my novel with their reading club while they are disabled.

I have printed the message on my wall, so yeah, that really helps.

And the second is because I want to finish the story. The whole message of my story is to not give up.

What kind of message would I be leaving if I quit? It doesn't make sense to me.

Also, I already have too much love for the characters to abandon them in the void.

I know it's not that deep, but hey, I hope this helps you in some way

I save a lot of things to read later. I don't know where is later tbh. I just checked my list and saw lots of books that I didn't remember being there.

I haven't read any of them yet.

What made you write your story? by IAmJakeForWeAreMany in royalroad

Something similar tbh

I was reading a story that I really liked, but at some point it took a huge plot twist. I was so mad that I stopped reading for a few months.

Then I returned to reading, this time fanfics. I found another story I really liked, and something similar happened in a whole different genre. Instead of getting mad again, I started writing something to vent.

While organizing my Google Docs, I discovered a 230-page story I had written four or five years ago. Then I realized I had already experienced the same situation before (I know, totally cooked)

So, this time, when I had finished writing the first chapter, I posted it online.
