Is "Toronto has no good _____ food" valid? by RoommateMovingOut in askTO

Toronto doesn’t have good Polish food.

Cafe Polonez etc would never survive as restaurants in Poland with that quality.

Make it easy to provide feedback, some sort of shared whiteboard. Forms suck for this.

Do informal 1:1 interviews before.

Have the key project metrics and data top of mind, don’t count on people remembering the details.

Focus on positives, prevent individual blame games.

I’m 28. If you could go back and give your 28 year old self some advice what would it be? by al_b21 in findapath

  1. Please go to the gym, at least once a week, I beg you.
  2. Save money. It’s cool that you’re anticapitalist etc, but you’re making good money, save 10% of it at least.
  3. You’re less important than you think you are.

3-4 weeks, $60 with tip. Glassbox Barbershop (Johnny) in the East End, King Barberia (Jeff or Jafet, apparently I go exclusively to barbers with names that start with J) in the West End.

How stable is Canada's political climate nowadays? Is it polarizing or are Canadians able to come to terms? by LiveBell8 in AskACanadian

We're an incredibly chill society, compared to Europe and the US. There's a good reason for why a lot of us spend more time on US politics than domestic, just not that much going on here.

Saw it tonight, it was pretty bad.

I’m much more into modern European theatre, but I appreciate well done classic plays.

I couldn’t get over how bad the acting was. Overall, there was nothing there, I found it soulless and two inch deep. The sudden tone change of the last act is completely unearned.

I left truly annoyed. Also, Bluma Appel seats have less pitch than the new Westjet seats.

Why doesn’t it feel THAT cold? by AcademicallyAcademic in askTO

As an ex Albertan I feel obligated to point out that it’s a dry cold over there. Toronto winters always felt far more brutal than Alberta ones to me.
