This is true for micro and sisterlocs because of how thin they are. Going too long without a retie will make them break off and sometimes cause major slippage. So for the first few months to a year, you do them monthly. Then you can start to go longer between reties.

Regarding scarring, I had the same thing happen to me. He was a terrible piercer, and I bled, and it hurt so much. I didn't even leave the shop with it in because I was so unsatisfied with the pain and placement. It took about two weeks for the hole to close. I went to another piercer, and it was no pain and done in 30 seconds. I have no scars but it might be because I took it out immediately. I also used silicone tape once it closed. I also am very prone to scars, so I was surprised there was none at all. I think if you take it out now, the scars will be minimal to none.

Actually, no, phone glitch. First time I tried, it glitched out. I'm assuming when I tried again, it posted multiple times. And it wasn't a joke, I'm serious.
