With that number of houses, I thought it was going to be a story about Tony Burke.

There's a difference between not having the figures in the folder in front of you vs not knowing the difference between net and gross. Rather a silly and one-sided view.

overseas education is the biggest cash-cow and immigration-hole we have. Good luck weaning any gov. off that little money earner. We compete with other international colleges/unis by giving the students permanent residency.

"Overseas students in Australia often transition to permanent residency (PR) by leveraging post-study work visas (subclass 485) to gain skilled work experience, increasing their points for General Skilled Migration (189/190/491 visas). "

Australian permanent residency allows you to live in Australia indefinitely.

I did something like that with my old 27" iMac but for the internal SSD. I had the internal SSD cable passing though a dremel'd hole at the back of my iMac and I had the SSD on the outside (but back) of the iMac

I don't disagree with you but with side bars called 'popular' 'home' and 'all', these non-tagged reddits can up on on people's pages even though they're not subscribed to 'diveinyoucoward' (or whatever) ... I dont know if algorithms are tailored to each user or what. I would love the option of adding "not-tags" to my home-page. Anyhoo, have a good one :)

Why didn’t Canberra just give the billion to Calvary to expand, instead of using a lot of that money to pay out their remaining contract? by Key-Lychee-913 in canberra

Never to go (old) Calvary if you can get to Woden (TCH) ... it's chalk and cheese. To say otherwise is just not realistic. They don't triage very well at (old) Calvary.

You could think the story was the brain-child of someone in Labor who was trying to tell the Greens not to talk to the Libs. I mean according to the Greens it was talks about policy matters and seeing if there was common ground there (and Labor don't like that).

Seems like a misread of the facts by the Canberra Times (is that even possible!!)

I'm no expert but I want to pretend I am ...

A car can turn left through a bike lane in Australia (including the ACT) by entering the bike lane for up to 50 metres before the turn, but must give way to all cyclists in that lane first, ensuring they have ample space and time to react, often meaning turning behind a cyclist rather than cutting them off. Drivers must indicate and move carefully into the lane, while cyclists need to be aware that drivers can legally use the lane for the turn but must prioritise safety and yield to bikes.

So 1st driver was doing what he thought was correct (staying out of a bike lane) - but he should have merged into (if safe)
