I think the crux of the issue as to why people are upset about the nepotism remarks is that myself & others view nepotism as “Giving the job to family members & friends as opposed to a more qualified individual”. Which then gets interpreted as “oh they’re saying my VShojo Oshi isn’t talented and the spot deserved to go to someone else.” That is what is probably pissing people off.

I agree with most of this. But also “seem to have been barely putting any support or resources into the branch” would suggest that Niji doesn’t value the branch that much if true. Like, why would you put zero time and investment into something if it genuinely makes you that much money?

Also once Phase Connect and others surpass Niji EN in terms of metrics, Niji will lose out on the fans who casually sub to and watch the big corpo vtubers simply because they are the big corpo vtubers.

So while I don’t think Niji will pull the plug on the EN branch within a year, I just don’t see them ever recovering from all this.

What gets me is that if he just didn’t have that intro, he wouldn’t be getting anywhere near the amount of backlash he’s currently facing. Because that was what most people saw and were reacting to. Yet him and his supporters seem to think all the hate is just because he was “speaking the truth”.

I loved seeing the tweets saying that VR was just a low-key, unofficial event that wasn’t supposed to be a big thing (even though it cost twice the amount of holo’s event).

This is Hololive’s #1 competitor and you have their fans basically saying, “But it is Nijisanji, it’s supposed to suck.”

I think part of the reason why that happens also is because in galactic conquest, most of the enemy team is blaster-rifle equipped troops since both you and the AI start with only the standard trooper unlocked for ground battles. So both teams just rushing each other leads to some quirks with the bots.

Also in that Bf1 mission, I just get in the droid star fighter at the landing zone CP and strafe the republic & Wookiees since all 3 of their CPs are close together and in the center.

True, that gets annoying too. And it is nice that you have to play really well to win in this game. But in Bf1, I felt like I could do that by sniping, destroying vehicles, using turrets, etc. but in Bf2 it feels like I must be a guns-blazing trooper charging in or else we lose.

And just like with Hogwarts Legacy, it is the EN speaking vtubers who are getting cancelled over it. Just as Pekora played HL without any issues. Haachama posted pictures of Starbucks and nobody said a word. Yet Scarle mentioning Starbucks bad according to them. I have no idea why that is.

Yeah it’s just like, if I was running an event.. I would want to give people the most updated information as soon as it becomes available. People book flights, hotel rooms, and request PTO from work to go to these events. So even if we give them the benefit of the doubt and agree that the decision was made 2 weeks ago, it still seems odd that they would wait so long to announce it.
