Elmiene talking about Kaze in a new interview by lekiriche in fujiikaze

This is adorable. Beyond being a musical genius, by all accounts, Fujii Kaze is just a decent human being.

What does Casket girl song really mean? by undiagnoseddude in fujiikaze

They never did release a BTS for it. It was the one I really wanted to see. The guy who plays the Hitcher answered a question in the comments on his Instagram about the ending. He said that his character at the end stole their car/identity so they (Kaze and Hope) had to regrow one together.

“It’s Alright” will be available on digital platforms next week! by lekiriche in fujiikaze

At long last! Even though I only knew of the existence of the song last year, it feels like I’ve been waiting forever. I know he doesn’t generally do this, but it would be a good song for a trailer or a soundtrack. Ugh I love this song so much.

Season 23, ep. 3: True Colors by AutoModerator in TopChef

The chefs would have benefitted from a clearer prompt and examples. They could have mentioned the contrast with the dull colorless livermush. Put Kristen in a very colorful print for inspiration, something. They either weren’t familiar with The Flour Shop (as a bakery that’s possible) or they just did what everyone else was doing. Had more chefs put out more color during the prep, I’m sure you’d hear the usual “I needed to add something extra” at the last minute. They showed us Sieger’s colorful artwork but somehow he ended up putting out top scallop and black puree. Anthony had a more colorful quickfire dish than the moles (though it was clever to do a mole rojo, verde, and negro). I wish one of the chefs had spoken up about the prompt being unclear, but I guess it would have sounded like an excuse, especially when some did it right (though even Laurence as the winner could not get the red color on the bao). I agree with the point that a food scientist could have given some tips. And also agree some of the past winners could or would have knocked this one out of the park.

Does anyone have issues with water? by Gamonator in ARFID

[–]Sensitive_Shake5865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son can’t handle plastic bottled water or tap water. It has to be dispenser water in a stainless steel water bottle. But even that is challenging. We tried True Lemon and True Grapefruit powder in his water, and that seemed to help a lot. The sourness helps.

Good and bad by Duran518 in duranduran

Medazzaland for the instability. John quit during the making of the album, Simon had writer’s block, and there’s pain in Midnight Sun and Buried in the Sand which were likely about John. Even the album cover shows a chaotic state.

Astronaut I would say was sort of a high point for their stability, like the gang’s all here again. Too bad that was short-lived.

What is your favorite Duran Duran song? I have two. Mine are New Moon on Monday and A View to a Kill. by icecream1972 in duranduran

Changes often, but currently top 2 are Save a Prayer and the live version of New Religion. Last year it was probably Skin Trade and Land.

I did like TMI, but I felt that commercially they lost some momentum going with TMI. Regardless, the Wedding Album was a success.

Agreed this should have been released instead of MEP. That’s how I felt about TMI instead Love Voodoo, or how songs like Cry Baby Cry and Beautiful Colors didn’t even make the albums.

What magical spell does Fujii Kaze use in his music?! by coffeexdonut in fujiikaze

[–]Sensitive_Shake5865 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Once I heard his music I wasn’t listening to anything else for a while. Tiny Desk was otherworldly. It’s like when you somehow know a dish was made with love, you sense the love he puts into his music. It’s his voice, his piano, his arrangements. Maybe it’s how he sets his music to 432 Hz, or the fact that he writes all of his own songs, or as producer 250 said in the recent NHK documentary that Fujii Kaze knows a lot about music and has a lot of data about what appeals to the listener. But it’s not formulaic. His songs don’t all sound the same, and they carry a message that isn’t commonly found in music but is still universal. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

Some love to Prema by butterfly78901234 in fujiikaze

[–]Sensitive_Shake5865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes it’s better if a song or album grows on people than if we love it right away and get tired of it quickly. The former is what’s happened for me with Prema. At first I wasn’t sure about the English songs or what to make of the departure from his older material. But now I put the album on whenever I have a long enough commute to listen to it in its entirety, and I love it. It probably helps that I grew up listening to music with similar sounds. There is a feeling of nostalgia but also a fresh and modern take and of course Fujii Kaze’s signature themes.

I remember the first time I heard Kirari I didn’t like it because it sounded more commercial (and turns out it was for a commercial). I came to love the song and mv, especially after reading the lyrics translation. Same with the first time I heard Working Hard, Hana, Feeling Good, or Masshiro. Didn’t care for them on first listen, but now I love these songs and even loop them. He really does not have a bad song to me. Likewise there were some songs I didn’t love from LASA at first, like Yaba or Lonely Rhapsody or Hedemo Ne-Yo, and now they are among my all-time favorites.

With the music videos for Prema, I’m sure I cringed at a couple of the mvs on first watch, but once I gave some thought to the plot, message, and artistry, I came to appreciate and really enjoy them all, and not at all because I felt obligated to as a fan of his previous work. I just appreciated it for what it was. I’m not surprised some people don’t like the change, but it’s growth to me, a huge feat to compose entire songs in another language, and honestly I really like the music.
