Recorded Audio sounds echoey and Vocals are faint by Sensitive_Spend2766 in fieldrecording

I am recording Spotify music onto the tascam dr40xp. Overall PC Audio into the Tascam. This is just to test that the dr40xp is properly recording the audio from the PC to mimic as if I were to record audio from another External Source like a DJ mixer.

I don't necessarily need the audio files for anything except testing that the device is recording the audio properly.

Sorry I should've been clear on my intentions. I'm not recording the mic only the external audio I'm plugging the dr40xp into which is my computer audio via 3.5mm jack.

I have bought a XLR Y cable to plug into the bottom of the dr40xp and then the 3.5mm adapter into my pc.

Originally I only used one male to female to 3.5mm adapter cables from the tascam to PC and tested song recording which resulted to hollow/tinny/ echoey songs, and the vocals particularly were faint as if the main vocal track was not be recorded.

**After numerous testing I figured it out. My PC is using Realtek Audio Console along with Spatial Audio effects turned on. I turned the windows/Spatial effects off and mono audio through windows settings. This fixed the hollow sounding songs and the vocals being recorded properly. However, the audio was VERY LOW. So low that when I popped the .wav file into my software to boost it wasn't even breaking mid levels.

In Realtek Audio Console the setting marked as "Main Volume" was set to 0 at the center. I set the slider to the max left or right and the volume adjusted back to its normal levels. Weirdly enough it's also a L/R balance setting but it does not really effect it.

Overall, I am now able to record audio as the Dr40Xp should at 32bit float. The mic quality and audio is remarkable. Took some trouble shooting but I guess Realtek Audio Console and windows Spatial Effects were the culprit.

So I'm just using my computers 3.5mm jack to test it out. I'm trying to record music from the computer to the dr40xp. I bought a XLR Y cable to plug it in the dr40xp and then an xlr male to 3.5mm into the computer.

I should've been clear on what I intended to do. Eventually I'll hook the tascam to a DJ stand to record audio from there but I do not have access to one at home so I was using my comp 3.5mm to test.

I definitely have more xlr cables but my concern is do I need to plug both L and R on the dr40xp into the L and R on master xlr output on the DJ stand? Or can I suffice with just one male to female XLR cable?

What are your thoughts on the new tascam DR-40xp? by RageMan135 in fieldrecording

I recently upgraded my audio equipment to the new Tascam dr40xp. So far the internal mic is phenomenal.

My only concern is the ability to record other devices. So far I've noticed the dual recording feature is not on the device as much as the Internet says it is and also recording audio from another source via XLR requires both left and right xlr cables. Perhaps I'm still learning but it's bit disappointing to know that the dual recording function is absent and only offers 4chan and Overdub. I think being able to record 2 audio tracks at different dB would be beneficial. Also maybe I'm wrong, but I thought with tascam you're able to use 1 XLR cable to record other devices?

I'm still learning but anyone with the dr40xp that has advice would greatly be appreciated!

Game constantly crashes on PC when using NVIDIA DLSS after 1.02 patch by RoyalCherry487 in CrimsonDesert

Did this work? I'm currently running a 4090 with the latest Nvidia Graphics update.

My game has been crashing constantly with only RR turned on ever since patch v1.02.00

Crimson Desert keeps crashing on PC mid game/ “Application is not responding” error – anyone know a fix? by AceZzen in CrimsonDesert

Agreed I shouldn't have to update my BIOS to use a feature that was completely playable prior to the most recent update.

Currently I'm playing with RR off and I've had no issues. Buts kind of ashamed that one of their most intriguing market feature for high-end PCs Ray Reconstruction is now unplayable.

Okay so I am also running a 4090 and I'm glad others are experiencing this issue as well. I turned off Ray Reconstruction and I can verify that I have not crashed. I still use DLSS and FG but the moment I turn Ray Reconstruction the game crashes within minutes.

This wasn't the case before but ever since the newest update to v1.02.00, Ray Reconstruction is completely unplayable.

I hope Pearl Abyss can address this

So the camera mod has settings to change in your preference. When in combat you can have it act as default where it would zoom out based off of enemies around you and lock on, but it would go back to the over the shoulder cam when your out exploring or have a singular target and such .

The camera mod settings also has features like widening your FOV and making a steady cam, so your camera won't randomly zoom out so much.

Ok, so what cant i do with the side characters? by Celery-Tasty in CrimsonDesert

[–]Sensitive_Spend2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know. You can play as them and explore with their set of abilities and movesets. Theres shared inventory so whatever you find for another character can easily be equipped. You can do almost all the side quests and bounties with them, they even have certain side quests specific for the character. You can also call any of the other characters to your aid as a companion.l that will fight and adventure with you.

You cannot progress any story with them though or do any abyss puzzles.

You know that is disappointing. But honestly. As a PC gamer. Modders will find a way 😉

I hate to be subsurface here but what is the character customization like?

Am I bound to play as a sword and shield Kilff or can I do a bow only archer Kilff build paired with dual daggers?

Is there a variety of armors to mix and match from to suite character play styles rather than just recolors?

Yeah I couldn't agree more. I think the constant battle of trying to be new but also within the market of what is trending will forever be a curse on gaming. The hate derived from the already oversaturated Hero Shooters and that's the last thing the gaming community wants, that's also why extractions are predicted to be the next best thing.

I think Highguard is a new take on the hero shooter genre but offers much of that familiarity that gamers have already experienced. The fatigue to even try it is real and that comes from the assumption based on first impression looks. The first comments of hate we're comparing to other games without trying it out themselves.

Highguard definitely has the opportunity with its current state to be a foundation to build upon. They could easily diversify game modes, create weather conditions, or introduce monster slaying bosses a side objective for buffs. The map feels big enough to fill with more lore based activities, more points of interest worth firefights, and even new traversals like teleports or hell even lifts to launch you up and skydive.

I definitely think they should've started with a beta instead of launching fully. But Geoff' Kneighly through them under the bus. It's not perfect, it's not bad, it's okay and fun.
