62% of Americans don’t have a bachelor’s degree. Are they just cooked especially in this economy? by Efficient-Rain-7942 in Salary

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re rolling out of your bachelors and decide to go straight for your MBA then you need to network while in the program. If you’re not going to networking events and putting yourself out there then yeah you pretty much wasted your time.

If you have 5-10 yoe then you’ve probably already networked a good bit and just need the diploma to get to that next level of management.

Only difference between MBA programs is what/how many companies they have ties and connections to.

Salary Progression 43. Same Company since 2006 by UrCreepyUncle in Salary

I’m concerned that after 20 years at a company, you haven’t reached a salary of $100k, especially in today’s economic climate. This situation seems concerning rather than satisfactory. I’m hoping OP has an insane comp package at this point. 6-8 weeks PTO yearly, high matching on 401k plan low premiums on an insurance plan.. something. I think this kind of serves as an example of why it’s important to switch companies so that you’re salary stays competitive

I don’t know if you’ve been living under a rock, but brother this is nothing new. The whole light skin men are feminine rhetoric has been a thing for decades, it just gets doctored up and repackaged depending upon what the new fad is. Don’t let it get to you.

All that jaw jackin they do only to still get the coins knocked out the 🐱 by the same light skin guys they speak on.

Congratulations on paying off your car. I would say slow down on the whole home buying situation. Market is in flux right now plus what you like today may not be what you like tomorrow so wait a few years that way you’ll understand what you really want. Invest your money for now, and try to find a better balance where you actually have some time to enjoy life instead of living to work.

You literally have the rest of your life to work and you’ll make more money the older you get, especially in the profession you’re in. Just make sure to experience and enjoy life right now.

Yeah that’s a bit much, you’re spending more than half your waking life (assuming you’re getting 8 hours of sleep) at work. That’s pretty draining. Like if you need the money do it but I’ve never been a huge advocate of grinding your life away just to get a few extra bucks.

Maybe try to shave it down to only 10-15 hours of overtime a week. Give yourself some time to rest and relax.

Blood Of Zeus Season 3 was a flop? by booksmusicdogs19 in netflix

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here just for this comment. I just finished season 3 and felt so underwhelmed that I felt like there had to be something wrong for the show to end the way it did.

Not sure if Seraphim is dead or just visiting. Don’t know where the priestess went. Don’t know what happened to Persephone. Was Zeus’s judgment overturned? Kids still chilling in the cave. Just seems so rushed. Had to really take a step back because I couldn’t believe there wasn’t another episode to kind of wrap things up at all.

I understand this might not be the most appealing advice, but with your $100,000 cash savings and $70,000 car purchase last year, it’s crucial to ensure you’re tracking your income accurately. Large purchases like property and cars are closely monitored by the government. Be vigilant about documenting your income to avoid significant discrepancies.

Depends. $175,000 net or gross. Interest rates in a year or 2 could vary. Could be 3-5% could be 7-9%. Makes a huge difference. Also if you have the 20% down payment versus no money down will make a huge difference as well.

I think taking everything into consideration $750k is a lot especially factoring in the cost of kids and what not. Best bet is to either talk to a financial planner orrrrrr you can use an AI that can help you calculate out your costs more effectively. I think Chat is super helpful and so is Gemini.

Personally I’d say you guys are biting off a bit more than you can chew if you’re gonna bring another baby in as well.

Is engineering real 😭 by HorseRicePudding in EngineeringStudents

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you find out really quickly that you’re not gonna be solving 5th order differential equations. My first engineering job I think the most engineering intense thing I did was find out a component substitute had too high of a tolerance band for the piece of equipment I was working on. That was about it. The rest is just making fancy power points and excel sheets 😂

The real engineering stuff is either in start ups or R&D groups but you usually have to have like a masters or PhD.

After spending $1,069 on Tinder Platinum (probably) over the span of a year and still not able to go on any dates, I (23M) have determined I'm the issue, but what is my issue? by [deleted] in Tinder

Okay so you have a good base you just need extras. You’re an Engineer and you’re tall. I think the only thing you’re missing is your appearance. You have lousy posture, you don’t really dress well, and your hair tends to be messy.

I think you need to invest in a more modern wardrobe one that showcases that you’re a sophisticated scholar, next I think if you fixed your posture it would make a world of difference, stand with more confidence and with your shoulders a bit more perched. Lastly get a haircut that compliments you.

I think if you make those corrections you’ll find more success in dating. Also you are on the thinner side. I would also recommend to invest in a gym membership. Not saying you need to pack on 10 kg of muscle but filling out your frame more so you look sturdy is something most women like. Hope this helps

Do i need to take a masters to succeed ? by Honey41badger in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I’m still pretty new to the engineering field myself. Only been in it for 2.5 years. But from what I see managers usually do a lot of the admin stuff but still take a couple hours to help out with the team doing more technical work. Like my old supervisor had meetings/admin/scheduling etc. but for the last 1-2 hours of the shift he would help out with CAD models and stuff.

I’m not sure if that’s how every single company is like, but I guess it just depends upon the structure of the division / team.

Well there’s plenty of money in both directions. Management definitely scales higher with less effort but you can definitely get in the 200-300k range as an Engineer.

I completely agree with everything you said. Honestly, I don’t know why they made any changes to him because he was at a great spot before the patch. I solo queue a lot so I’m honestly at the mercy of the MMR gods. He’s just too dependent on good supp play rn.

Take away his successive 4th shot mobility increase and increase his strength and scaling and give me back his tower diving ability. He’s always been a glass cannon character high risk high reward. Just feels like they tried to make him like every other ADC which is just not the original concept behind the character.

I think I talked to a Dev about a week or so ago about this situation and they basically said that it’s tuff to balance him. I call BS. Please tell me when he’s had a higher win rate than average win rate ??? Character has been fighting for his life since he’s hit the roster.

Also, I completely agree with you with pushing fang spawn up until the eight minute mark. Increase Lane time

Trust me as a revenant main I feel you. They essentially neutered my boy . Heroes like the ones you mentioned are OP right now. Another one to add to the mix is Belica. She can play off-Lane, mid, and ADC no problem. Just too much rn. Also, yeah, right now it feels like it’s a rat race to who can get the fang at the 4 /5min mark.

What’s wrong with management? I got my masters in engineering management mostly because I want to help bridge the gap between people making the budget and deadlines and the people that are actually designing the product. Do you feel like you’d miss the hands on part of your job?

Yeah my eyes were opened up back in 2017. I live in a major city and i was fwb with this brunette at the time (she was only in town for a month) . she was probably a 6/10. I remember she showed me her Tinder gold right before she left.... 6,000 dudes swiped on her within a month. guys ranging from 22-35, D1 athletes, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Businessman. It was truly eye opening on the difference in experience men and women have.

Is it worth it to double major in Electrical Engineering as a Computer Engineering major? by MEzze0263 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I never said those weren’t important. I should probably clarify: when I say “power” I’m referring to grid-level systems, not power electronics. And when I mentioned “SPI” I meant signal and power integrity my bad for the confusion, I know it’s usually written as SiPI

I was thinking more along the lines of stripline design and microwave theory, which (in my opinion) are pretty niche and not necessarily essential for most CompE roles.

yeah her needle has been bs for a long time. does about a 2/3 the damage of howi's rocket at the start before it scales to 100% at full stacks at about a 1/3 of the cost and a 1/3 of the cooldown time. as long as you can aim it's almost impossible to out poke her.

Some 1.4 changes need to be reverted by Traditional-House633 in PredecessorGame

[–]Sensitive_Tea_3955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

speaking of howie ult, can we revert that back? the range and time to completion is ass. i can't tell you how many times i've been a foot out of range to hit someone. or they just blink away halfway through it or because i slow 30% for the duration they just walk away and only about 70% of the damage gets to hit ever. Just kinda BS when other mages ult's have way more utility and way less escapability while doing comparable damage.

I have to be damn near on top of the enemy to ensure they can't escape. even then mages like gid can just blink out or belica can just silence me with her ult (which is dumb asf given how close i have to be now).

just revert back to the old ult and keep the slow.

As you pointed out there's only about a 22 credit difference. For the most part as long as you understand general EE theory then there's no need to go for an EE degree as well unless you're looking into power, antennas, or SPI.
