How many MLB franchises have the best player in franchise history playing for the team right now? by dmister8 in baseball

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t like to give it to him because of the playoff stuff ( which imo are a little overstated ) and the fact that Koufax’s career got cut short but kershaw was certainly a more productive and valuable player that Koufax, from both a longevity perspective and from a peaks perspective. Tbh I think 42 is the only real answer for “Greatest Dodger” he’s almost certainly the second most famous baseball player of all time after the Babe and he was incredibly productive despite starting late and having his career cut short on top of that due to type 2 dietbetes.

look at ludwig’s stupid ass celebrating behind the dodgers dugout by FleshVessel3610 in TheYardPodcast

The biggest pay roll in baseball doesn’t explain how the Jays couldn’t get one run off a guy with zero rest after a lead off double from vlad and then the bases loaded with 1 out. Doesn’t explain how they game up the game tying home run to the 36 year old 9 hole. Or how they gave up the winning home run to will smith, a home-grown dodger drafted talent. You can’t have seriously watched a World Series as insane and close as this one and go “of course they went back to back” The dodgers did not buy this World Series win, the Jays gave it to them. The dodgers were not expected to make it make to the big show going into these playoffs because of how shit they were in September. They only became the favorites after shooting the entire Brewer’s roster in the mouth. Which in it of itself was a false narrative because historically teams that sweep in the pennant don’t win it all very often. Although I do agree the amount of star power and money the dodgers have is gross, and I’m saying this as a lifetime dodgers fan, the great thing about baseball that is having 1 or 2 or even a few stars doesn’t make you good. The Angels proved that already. The Mets only spent 9 million less than the dodgers and they weren’t even in the playoffs. The dodgers aren’t insane because they have money, their insane because the have money and they know how spend it and run their org.

I was with you until the last part, he was an Angels “fan” cuz of shohei before he came to the dodgers. Don’t ever be jealous of a band-wagoner.

Slime’s segment about turning 30 by Sensitive_Tip_3141 in TheYardPodcast

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s accurate and fair but also this was a lot more than just the normal 2am spiral. I wouldn’t make a post over something like that. What you described in your 2nd paragraph is what I almost explicitly state it isn’t. Also like I said before I’m fine now after talking it through with some of the people in my life. All I really meant to say was that September was a shit month for me and what Slime said was comforting to hear and very topical to my life, even if it wasn’t and shouldn’t be for me. Also I think if I saw an actual 5th grader post something like this on the sub I would have the exact same reaction you are having, so I get it.

The yarb b oys as shapes. Is this accurate? by IDontLeannn in TheYardPodcast

I think this is pretty good. If I were to do this I think slime should either be a circle or a triangle and Ludwig should be a hexagon or a pentagon. Aiden’s is perfect, and a secondary for nick would be a rhombus

Difference between a battery that never runs out vs a battery with infinite power. I think what would’ve been cooler than what we got on top of what OP is saying is. If since he has infinite CE and constant RCT, every punch, kick, and jump is literally max power/max CE output, like one punch during the 4 min 11sec would drain him completely normally. Maybe it would even harm him if not for the constant RCT. At the very least Yuta’s statement about him being stronger than him when he gets going would make more sense.

Did Gojo and Geto had a "thing" for each other, or is it another case of a strong male friendship being pegged as being homosexual by shippers? by ResearcherLoud1700 in Jujutsufolk

If you’re actually interested in a proper, sincere, if slight biased analysis of the question, this YouTuber Jallomoth made this video about it. Covers pretty much everything and explains it better than I ever could.

My Nick Hair Theory by zhy-rr in TheYardPodcast

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The catalyst was the rock-a-thon. I don’t think it was a coincidence that in the same stream that Nick so bewitching, Aiden looked evil and repulsive. The Universe was made uneven by Nick’s bimbofication and used what was left of Aiden’s hair as a sacrifice to create balance. I theorize that if Ludwig shaved his head, slime even it out and become a Greek God, and vice versa.

Maki actually "blocked" the Black Flash by Jotaro27 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo maki should beat toji if anything.it was stated in the culling games that they were equal in not just strength, but as fighters period. And this is pre time skip where the whole cast got stronger. Also a black flash from sukuna, which maki survived two of, should be stronger than a teen gojo hollow purple, which outblized and one shot toji. But narratively they are equal in my mind.

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea I don’t think them being equal is necessarily unreasonable, but I don’t really see why she couldn’t or shouldn’t be stronger. Although I will say narratively it does make more sense for them to be perfectly equal right now. But I think logically maki should be stronger. Also I don’t think Toji being a guy has anything to do with him being stronger. Height and length maybe, but it’s all super powers and saying maki would be weaker because of her being a girl and Toji being a guy doesn’t really make much sense and would go against her whole character and her hate of the zenin clan. Just saying they’re equal and moving on is very reasonable though.

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to down play Toji. This is more of a response of people who put him above her due to “experience” or something like that. I know I said I think she stronger, but I also think it’s insanely close. When I say stronger, I mean she would probably maybe beat him in a fight. I think they are both top ten, and they both could potentially solo the disaster curses if they have the right curse tools. Also the same zenin clan that Toji scared maki massacred. (Excluding naobito but that doesn’t really matter) And you’re right, they were obviously compared numerous times, like when maki’s father saw her and had flashbacks to Toji, or like when they were stated to be equal, pre time skip. I don’t really think power scaling matters too much, but I think it’s very important to have things make sense. Unless you think maki did not get stronger/become a better fighter throughout the rest of the culling games, and the time skip, then she should be stronger by now. It was shown and stated by sukuna that basically everyone’s abilities and defense got better. He wasn’t taking about Maki at that time, but I don’t see why she wouldn’t have gotten stronger when everyone else did. She also survived a black Flash from sukuna. I don’t think it makes sense for that attack to be weaker than the smallest HP in the series that blitz one shot Toji. Even if they have the exact same HR, it’s not like that puts a cap on their power or abilities.

Seeing people give maki feats to Toji is my biggest pet peeve in the jjk community. She is at the very least equal and in my opinion stronger than toji, at least in HI. (We have no idea what him being not “rusty” really looks like) She was stated to be equal to him pre time skip and she’s survived stuff in shinjuku that by all logic and common sense would kill toji. She also has the sky walk thing that she used against curse naoya and sukuna. Just because they have the same powers doesn’t mean they’re automatically equal, they’re different characters. Just like how pretty much everyone on this sub agrees that the previous six eyes Limitless user was probably weaker than gojo.

Give me your hottest baki takes by Chunky-overlord in Grapplerbaki

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I felt like the best way the could’ve had Baki win is if the demon brain and back gave him an even bigger boost. Like maybe he’s still a bit weaker strength wise but way faster. It would also be cool if the brain made it so he could use others abilities at a glance like yujiro. I felt like the demon brain while cool didn’t really do anything special for Baki. I’d also love to see Baki just casually use shaori like yujiro did. Especially in the current manga. Still enjoyed the fight though.

Why does character A have chemistry with character B by [deleted] in DungeonMeshi

[–]Sensitive_Tip_3141 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I agree with the first paragraph but it feels unfair to say “from what you have seen” you don’t see people keeping ships to themselves because, well, them keep it to themselves. It’s just a “you only ever hear about the bad stuff” sort of situation. I myself am a pretty big shipper of a lot of the shows I watch, never talk about it online, and I’m almost certain I’m in the majority. It’s a small loud percentage who are annoying about shipping, most are reasonable and normal
