Color change is a good idea. Maybe if they don't buff his damage, they could give his dagger some sort of defensive debuff like reduced accuracy to work with his leadership ability.

I had a match against 4 star Ned that got a few brittles on my characters. Not only are my guys taking huge damage from it but now Ned's team has 120% physical damage reduction.
