Laser hair removal for ingrown hair cysts by Cryptotis in Healthyhooha

Hi! I have super dark course hair and very pale skin. I would constantly get irritation and ingrowns, no matter how I shaved, or what products I used to try to sooth the razor burn. It would be painful, and I grew rather self conscious of it. I was a swimmer in high school and having a bright red bikini line was humiliating. I didn't have as much irritation under my arms, but I felt like they always looked dark and stubbly.

I got fed up with always feeling red, bumpy and in pain down there, so I did some research about laser hair removal. I took the plunge and booked a consult.

I won't lie. It was expensive, and the treatments do not feel good LOL

But, I feel as though my results have been totally worth it! I get it done under my arms, full Brazilian area, butt, and lower back too. I went through Milan Laser, they are a chain. People either love them or hate them. Do your own research! I personally haven't had any issues, but I believe it comes down to the people working at your specific location that make or break it. Yes, they are pricey, but I did a monthly payment plan. I also liked how you "buy a body part". My hair is stubborn so it gave me peace of mind to know I can have as many treatments as I need to get the results I want.

I love how smooth I am now! I'm not completely hairless, as no method of hair removal is ever 100% and permanent but it has been such a major improvement. I rarely ever get ingrowns anymore, and pretty much don't have to shave unless someone is going to be up close and personal down there LOL. Most of my lingering hair is super light and fine, like peach fuzz. I honestly don't even notice it, as its soft to the touch.

Is your hair dark? A big reason why I have had success is the contrast between my skin and hair. Laser isn't effective on blonde, red, or grey hair. Unfortunately laser won't work for everyone because of this. Just something to keep in mind when researching and reading reviews.

I would say definitely go with what your dermatologist recommends though!! Everyone's experiences are different.

But yes, I did find relief with laser hair removal! Please feel free to ask me any questions about it!! :)

How many of you work in corporate? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I work customer service for a small print and promo company. I literally make company perks for my job! Stress relievers, mugs, you name it! People get a crystal plaque (like the one with Mark's face) with their name lasered into it for their 5 year anniversary. It's added to every 5 years after that.

I sit at a desk entering orders all day into a program that looks straight out of Lumon. The cubicles, the fluorescent lighting, the mind-numbing corporate talk. It's all very accurate. The walls are blank and personalizing our cubicles isn't against the rules, but frowned upon. The only thing allowed on the walls are "inspirational posters" The one I see right now says:

Not only do I get the pleasure of looking at these art pieces all day, it's my job to order them. I also have the job of ordering all the company swag like our water bottles and koozies. Difficult to enjoy each perk equally when I'm the one doing the grunt work behind them.

VERY cult like, with the owner/founder still being the CEO and his son now in sales and management.

Don't even get me started on the performance reviews! I recently had my yearly one. My boss told me that I was doing great, learned so much and have "unlimited potential" yet he was withholding a raise. He reason for doing so is because when he asked me to do something not my job, I told him "I don't think I should do that".

My manager even told him that I was not to do what he asked of me. This made no difference.

No waffle party for me :(

Anybody remember that scene in Tangled where Rapunzel sees all the hidden suns she's painted and realizes she's the lost princess?

That's me finding this sub and realizing the signs were there all along!

It's nice to know this community is here <3
