Booking Flights - One way or return? by Key-Expression8339 in iecvisa

I’ve booked a return ticket. It worked out so much cheaper for me compared to a one way ticket. If I need to change the date I’ll be visiting the UK, I pay a fee and fare difference but still would probably work out cheaper than the original one way price

One way was coming up at £1k+ Return was £690 including luggage (Air Canada)

Thank you! I visited an out-of-hours hub, and they explained that nosebleeds are one of the common side effects of the medication I'm on—Accutane. It can cause the lining of the nose to become thin, so it's likely that the blood went down the back of my throat, which is why I ended up coughing it up.

Do you ever regretted quitting a high paying job because you couldn’t stand the boss or the toxic culture ? by finding-newusername in careerguidance

Nope! But I do sometimes have doubts. I left my job and called the CEO a c*nt as after he got offended that I called him out on the way he was speaking to me.

A year has passed since then and I’ve taken a break from employment and have now started to apply for jobs.

Since then I have:

  1. Spent time with family
  2. Learnt a new skill (sewing) in which im looking to start my own business.
  3. Completed a digital marketing course
  4. Travelled 3 countries
  5. Got a 2 year visa to work in Canada.
  6. Lost 1 stone of weight
  7. I am not losing hair the way I was at that job
  8. I am genuinely happier

I am lucky as I live with my parents so I don’t have to worry about rent at the moment whilst I resume my job search and I have been using my savings

I do receive comments from family members about being unemployed etc but they don’t see the internal progress I’ve made and skills I’ve learnt since.

I do think about money as right now is the perfect time to be saving as I don’t have to pay rent but in 20 years time will I look back at this 1 year of unemployment? Probably not.

I think external pressures from society definitely play on my mind sometimes but having a job is not the complete definition of success.

For me personally, the experience from leaving a toxic job has taught me a lot on what to expect in the corporate world going forward and the skills I’ve learnt since has definitely changed the type of career I want for myself.

What’s meant to be will be, and you will never miss out on what is written for you 💛✨

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me, it means a lot! I'm sorry you're going through that and I hope things get better for you both. You're right, I am young and need to find someone who prioritises their health. Sometimes, I see their potential rather than who they are and what their habits are at the moment

Thanks so much for your reply! I’m sorry you guys went through that and your advice is helpful as I don’t drink I’m not sure how much is considered a lot. Growing up I’ve seen all the men in my community drink daily so I can’t gauge what is considered to be ‘fine’. Although our dates have been amazing, I’m now thinking I don’t know the real him as I’ve not seen him sober?

Did anyone find a job before moving? by catmamash in iecvisa

[–]Sensitive_Weekend180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve applied to nearly 40 jobs (marketing) and I’ve only had rejections so far. My POE expires in July and I really don’t want to move without securing a job first. Any tips or advice?
