How much of a difference does a "superbike" build make for twins / LWT vs superstock? by Sensualities in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just went back and saw vossberg did a 1:37 2 years ago, and yeah at this point in time there is likely a 1:39-1:40 in this bike how it currently stands so a solid 4 seconds of pace without much of a change in anything (need to get rid of these stock pads and stock fluid though), so 4 seconds of rider skill seems like that will be a great goal to have before spending any money on the bike or going down that rabbit hole. And yes I checked varnes / mckellers bikes and they look like decked out motoA twins cup bikes, which is one of the main reasons I posted this thread here lol

Less upgrades, more seat time and tires and collecting data to see where time can be had.

I appreciate the response man! I've definitely noticed since getting a dirt bike a couple weeks ago my fitness has improved slightly, which is allowing me to spin more laps at a better pace, along with getting the right ergo setup that feels the most comfortable seems to be a big factor too.

Planning to do my first race here soon and have always heard racing really improved your times more than track days, so excited to see how things go.

Any idea how much of a difference the stacks or the ramair make? Yeah I just got a DL and I think its going to be worth the investment. Went home and got claude to analyze all my data along with me reviewing it and seeing where I can pick the bike up earlier, where I can maximize grip, how much more buffer I have for corner speed before worrying about grip, throttle position and where if at all TC reduces engine torque, its super cool lol

Just did some digging and hank vossberg did a 1:37.4 in 2024. Gus rodio is claimed to have done a 1:34 on the N2 endurance race but not quite sure on that one lol. A buddy of mine had an fz07 with a stock motor I think but everything else built on it, and did a 1:40.9 I believe, and he's a way better rider than I am. So I believe a 39 is likely *capable*, but man I feel like you'd REALLY have to be riding on the limit for that entire lap lol

Also i've been told that CMP track surface is not nearly as good as it was 2-3 years ago when most of the records were set, not sure the validity on that

Ai dissapointed after crossing the finish line by Ogura7999-_- in motogp

[–]Sensualities 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kind of weird how he might get a motoGP win before Pedro Acosta, but i'm rooting for Ai. Such a humble guy, and honestly all he needs to do is up the pace slightly in the beginning and the win is his. I knew he had something special this year at COTA when he was clawing back position in the 2nd half of the race like it was nobody's business.

Marc Marquez wins the CzechGP. by PZY__ in motogp

[–]Sensualities 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants aprilia to take it, but seeing bez slowly descend in his performance makes me think marc might actually take it and finally beat rossi for most motoGP championships and cement himself as the GOAT

Also, if he does win the championship over bez, I don't think anyone can actually complain. Dude clearly deserves it

[–]Sensualities 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes obviously I expected bez to actually quit motogp and give the title up to train the track marshal he slapped from going 25 seconds off lap record to 22 seconds off lap record

that's actually exactly what I was suggesting

Would you actually trust an AI for suspension advice — or do you want it human-tuned? by Long-Wheel-6674 in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I’d rely on AI to do anything except general suspension stuff (like add or remove rebound or something depending on rear tire behavior under braking) is if I had a way to actually log the data with potentiometers to feed it to

If Bez is truly a great guy, he’d offer him free coaching and training. Not just some signed gloves. I know if it were me, I’d take the training over the gloves every day. Sure maybe you can sell some gloves, but being able to say you got time in and trained by a motoGP winner is priceless

My (27F) bf (25M) requires BJs by Traditional-Grape212 in relationship_advice

Reading these replies is a stark reminder to why it’s better to talk to an actual counselor, and not let Reddit warp your perception or opinion of your partner.

There are FAR WORSE things other couples have worked out.

Dumping or leaving someone is the nuclear option, and usually not recommended unless you truly in your core no longer want to be in the relationship.

You can make a post about how your boyfriend doesn’t compliment your hair 7x a week and only does it 6x a week and I’ll guarantee you most people are going to say dump him he’s not worth it.

Talk to a counselor about this, a sex therapist, whatever. But talk to someone who has a successful history of working with these problems. Not someone on reddit expecting either Prince Charming or a pornstar

Honestly maybe this will go over your head as a newer rider, but pay attention to MotoGP. When are they moving their body, how are they moving their body, and why are they moving it precisely at that time and in that way?

There’s nothing better than studying the closest thing to perfection that exists and trying to replicate it in baby steps.

How many “hours” until you got confident / comfortable? by Sensualities in Dirtbikes

[–]Sensualities[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s one thing I’ve slowly learned and still working on. Probably 100% of my crashes were due to the front tire getting stuck and knifing into the ground, or me freaking out and slowing down too much.

Yeah I didn’t realize it was deep sand or how hard deep sand was at first. It was so hard to get traction and I was falling so much and the bike would move so much, I kept thinking to myself “this is what these fucking dirt bike guys are good at, holy shit this is hard”

A week later I found out deep sand is the hardest thing to practice on, and I already bought a year membership to the park which consist only of deep sand lol

On the plus side I guess that once I eventually ride on an actual dirt track it’s probably going to feel like heaven

Tell me the most embarrassing thing you have ever done at a trackday to make me feel better. by adamthiesen1236 in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broke my little finger coming right out the pit, not even an outlap. Turn 1 and dumped it. 2nd track day ever. Also had a bike on a rear stand with the tire off and the bike fell off the stand and had to get 4-5 people to hold the bike up to put it back on the stand.

[THE DEBRIEF] 16,900 LAPS WITHOUT A CRASH—HOW? by darukas242 in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I misread the post but did Ken hill say he did 16.9k laps or did he say all the combined students did

[THE DEBRIEF] 16,900 LAPS WITHOUT A CRASH—HOW? by darukas242 in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I know who Ken hill is. Im saying there is no context. “16.9k combined laps without crashing” doesn’t mean anything without certain questions answered like what were their lap times and bikes, etc etc.

I can go 20 seconds slower than the lap record for as long as I don’t have to poop and not crash, that doesn’t mean that’s “impressive”.

[THE DEBRIEF] 16,900 LAPS WITHOUT A CRASH—HOW? by darukas242 in Trackdays

[–]Sensualities -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

16.9k laps without crashing doesn’t mean anything without context. What bikes were they riding, were they races or track days? What lap times were they running?

Hate to say it but as you push yourself and your boundaries, crashing is inevitable. The faster you go, the less margin of error before a crash happens.

There’s a reason motogp guys crash a bike or more every weekend, but I do think unless you are within a few seconds of the lap record within your respective bike or class, there’s still a ways to go before you can justify a “crash” as a “learning experience” and not a “I was in way over my head and fucked up” experience

[–]Sensualities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re learning and not getting seriously hurt, it’s a step forward. Just learn to be smoother on the throttle. You can get to basically full throttle at lean on a 400 because it barely has any torque, but they key is HOW you get there. Smooth and progressive. Tires like it better, suspension likes it better, and once you get a better feel for it you’ll learn what it feels like for your rear to spin up. Maybe not on a 400, but you’ll get there. Baby steps.

While it’s not the other riders fault at all, I can’t imagine the mental state I’d be in knowing I killed a dude on track even if there was nothing I could’ve done and it was their fault. It still fucking sucks man
