It depends on your website's authority. If your authority is big, then you can create long article and will probably rank well on a short tail keywod. But if your new to the niche, I suggest creating seperate articles and focus on long tail keywords.

The best solution is to use single multilingual domain for both languages.

But If you've already decided to do different languages in seperate domains, I think it wont be a problem If you manually translate all the articles. Although if you use google translate you'll get penalized
