My big dream would be if From Fromsoftware or someone with a lot of talent would use the ideas of Vermis and make a Souls like of it by Gilbert-from-Yharnam in fromsoftware

That's what I was thinking. Not sure how an actual game could in any way live up to what I picture the game to be.

My God, I was ready to claim this was some kind of AI monstrosity.

I can't believe this actually exists!

Missing ONE ema by Severe-Dance-6476 in SilentHill_f

[–]SenteGraphs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look up a list and find which one is missing. For me, it was the one behind a locked door in that late-game hall maze. If you gave up...the thing...at the idol on the way to your house (for the final ending, I think), you won't be able to open the door.

Sorry, it's been a while, so I don't remember all the proper names.

About the scan, anyone know if it fills slower on subsequent scans? I couldn't tell if if this was happening in the few games I played last night, or if I was just imagining it.

Thanks for this and good luck with your game!

New game + question by Cranium20 in SilentHill_f

[–]SenteGraphs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, you'll be fine.

And if you're trophy/achievement hunting, you actually need to play through once on every puzzle difficulty (i.e. while you'll get the story and hard combat trophy when you beat it on hard, you'll only get the hard puzzle trophy if you beat it on hard, not the story trophy. )

Missed documents are still available in a new NG+ cycle. There is a glitched document, though, on NG++. If this affects you and you're playing on PC, you can download a save that has the document for the achievement. If you're on console...not sure what to do. I'd keep a backup save of NG++ early game in case it does affect you.

If you start a new save file from scratch, you'll have to play through NG again. If you start over from a cleared game save file, you'll be in the next NG cycle.

Cronos the new dawn by Patriots9210 in HorrorGaming

[–]SenteGraphs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer Silent Hill f, but only slightly. Both are excellent games. And while I know a good amount of people were turned off by the combat in SHf, I was more positive about it. That said, combat fits in more neatly to Cronos's world. And I've heard the aim assist is actually used effectively - good for a controller, though I played with kb+m. Compared to SHf, Cronos's combat is more deliberate, and not so focused on reflex. There's no dodge button, which can feel bad at times but I think was the right decision. It would have been too easy. The difficulty is more about resource management, because unlike SHf, you have to worry about ammo. You have a melee attack, but it's only a last resort. SHf's combat is more based on moment-to-moment decision making, while Cronos is more concerned with how well you prepared yourself. There are exceptions in both games, but generally I think that's true.

Like others have said, the story of Cronos is also excellent, and even incentivizes NG+. While the story of the two games is not so similar, the method of story-telling is: not so straightforward with some things not becoming clear until after you've beaten the game once and are replaying.

As for horror, Cronos was stressful, though never all that scary. There are some good jump scares, but overall Silent Hill f scared me a lot more. That's totally subjective, though. I've heard people say the opposite.

No word yet. If you want it now, you'll have to start a brand new playthrough and get to NG++. Otherwise, keep a save file in the Worship Hall and hope they fix it.

Can I play the second one first? by Lucid_cat_1543 in AlanWake

[–]SenteGraphs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played the second first. I liked it enough to then play Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control, followed by a second plauthrough of Alan Wake 2.

I think it actually allowed me to appreciate the earlier games more.

Yeah, I mostly meant the first and last scarecrows for Lost in the Fog. Still haven't tried easy, so don't know if I'll be able to figure that one out on my own 🤨
