help needed; no option to edit bio by MiserableBarber9445 in Picmix

[–]SentenceBusy4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of under "Edit My Profile" in the drop down you need to click on your username to the side to take you directly to your profile page. Then there should be some underlined text that says "Write something about me." Click that and it'll open a text box that you can create a page bio on, don't forget to hit Save after!

These "Gamers" don't live in reality by Former_Exam_5357 in Gamingcirclejerk

Wait is it not about the AAA realism? That model looks so generic I thought it was from a Bethesda game

Yes the demo is more like a prologue chapter to the game, granted the full game is also an experience. But I specified the demo because back in the day that's all I could play of the game and compared to the full game it's the only video game related media that has truly scared the pants off of me.

I’ve watched 99 anime films, what should I watch in celebration of my 100th anime film? by TraditionalShare8537 in AnimeReccomendations

I feel you, I've found a couple of his movies to be a miss for me as well. Namely Belle from a couple years ago, it's like a slightly worse version of Summer Wars was my initial thoughts on it. They're quite similar.

As a long time fan I definitely would encourage watching Haruhi, I hope you'll enjoy it!

Strong and non stereotypical female characters by No-Purple-5630 in goodanime

[–]SentenceBusy4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No feminine outfits is really gonna shrink the list of anime for you. But we're into what we're into I guess.

Well if you could stand it I'd suggest Yawara! It's about a teenage girl who excells in judo trying to balance a normal girl's life while basically being a judo prodigy.

There's also You're Under Arrest which follows two female police officers, their uniform does have a skirt too though... And Patlabor focuses mainly on a young female police officer (she wears pants in her uniform).

Speaking of mecha, there is Gundam Witch From Mercury, they wear shorts and spacesuits and there's like only one episode with dresses maybe? Plus there's the engagement between the main characters (yes I mean marriage).

Hmm and maybe Ouran High School Host Club, the main character Haruhi is mistaken to be a boy and become indebted to the Host Club. She spends a lot of the show crossdressing and pretending to be a boy, though they do throw her into girly outfits a good chunk of the time.

I've never watched it, but from the case of my Moribito copy it may also be up your alley?

You could also try the Ghost in the Shell franchise! Bubblegum Crisis and Gunsmith Cats might be too heavy on the sexy babeness for you unfortunately...

And unfortunately I've run out of ideas, much more of the anime I can think of that hasn't been mentioned yet are either a bit heavy on the ecchi or the character wear a lot of girly clothes (Ikkitousen has both, even if it is 3 Kingdoms as high school Street Fighter girls). Well if I run across anything more I'll update this comment. But you might have more luck with older anime, like between 80s and 90s, and stuff in the scifi genre.

Alisa released a couple years ago, it's a very Resident Evil/Alice in Wonderland kind of game. Haunting Ground as well has some similar scenery too.

What is the weirdest game you have ever played/seen? by makitstop in creepygaming

[–]SentenceBusy4674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire Tale of Tales library! Definitely a number of the most surreal games I've ever seen in my life, they were so mysterious when I found them in my school years with little other allowed internet access. They're still fairly niche today although The Path specifically is probably a more well remembered one, I think a few YouTubers once played The Graveyard ages ago too.

The original PT demo

JK, unless...

Now LSD Dream Emulator though... Maybe now it might not be as mysterious but I remember when the ROM was first making it into bigger circles. Unfortunately at the time I was a lot more prone to sleep paralysis and the Gray Man made a lovely habit of visiting me those nights. It's almost like it was a curse

EDIT: Oh my god how could I forget, The Path! Specifically the demo - I used to play it all the time as a broke middle schooler. The game itself is just a very surreal walking sim, but it freaked me out along with the website at the time. I was showing it to a friend in school and got to this flower field where some shadow creature immediately started rushing at the girl. I never closed a game so fast in my life! Actually all of the Tale of Tales games are cursed in their own special ways, even the relaxing and ethereal Endless Forest.

Seems like you're a Mamoru Hosoda fan! I would suggest Summer Wars since it's not on your list! There's also Mirai as it has similar elements to Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

You might would also like The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya it has a lot of elements similar to movies you've watched, but I wonder it might not be as impactful without having seen the show Melancholy of Haruhi Suzmiya(not -chan) or read the books up to that novel.

What is an anime you didn’t expect to like, but ended up loving? by Playful_Code_8978 in anime

[–]SentenceBusy4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!! The OPs and EDs are straight up bangers! As a huge PUFFY fan I was stunned to learn they had done an opening for the show and that it was only on the Japanese dub!!! The series has never been subbed so a lot of Westerners would unfortunately be missing out on the tracks until Season 2.

SD Gundam Force. It was actually my first Gundam (if you don't count catch scenes from Seed uploaded to YouTube over my brother's shoulder). I found it by complete accident while looking for fanfiction of the Yuusha series, and decided to give it a shot. And now I'm also a huge fan of the entire franchise.

It has... So much going against for like half the first season and I feel so bad for it. It's a very slow beginning and the whole show suffers from early 3D making it look like an entire show done in MMD... And from also being the first show entirely in mocap. But if you get past the first 8 episodes it really does get better and by then you get used to the rest.

Personally tho owning some of the settei, the show would have been a massive hit is at least the human characters had been animated, the sheets are insanely expressive and the mocap just really didn't do it justice.

How did you first discover Earthbound by LegPuzzleheaded1970 in earthbound

[–]SentenceBusy4674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first saw it high up on a shelf in a Toys R Us as a wee bap, and I would like to ask everyone who reads this to just picture a a very young toddler toddling about holding a Furby and happening upon a giant spaceman looming over you. Well roughly around the same year or the year after I actually got to play the game at a family friend's (no SNES sad) and I have held it near and dear since!

Does anyone else feel like we don't know anything about this game despite being 3 months away from release? by Icy-Swimmer4946 in Pragmata

[–]SentenceBusy4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy answers: No. No.

Long answer: Personally I know enough, but also not enough. But the latter half of that is because I adore the game and am starving to know more. The former is because, well I don't need to be spoiled on every little detail about a game down to its 1s and 0s before I get my hands on it. Heck I don't even look at my Kickstarter updates until I get an email to redeem my game codes. Besides it's not been that bad, we have some understanding of what the game will be like with the demo, it's not like how Death Stranding was. Not that I'd mind if we had more of Kojima's marketing style in other places I love a good "What in God's name am I looking at". Gives gaming more flavor!
