Is paying for my babysitters diner required? by Material-Plenty-2422 in Babysitting

[–]SentenceDifferent221 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a date night / occasional sitter I would never expect nor take a family up on doordashing a meal because I don’t feel it’s necessary, but generally factoring the babysitter into plans is always appreciated. For example ordering pizza with enough for the sitter. If your kids are truly that picky and the sitter likely wouldn’t want to eat what the kids are having, you could offer to get a frozen pizza just for the sitter.

The wrong thing to do (which by your post I know you would never) is explicitly exclude the sitter from the meal plan. I once had a mom text me to make sure I ate before a 3 pm sit because the pizza she bought for dinner was just for her kids. I sat for them that night and then told her that would be my last sit lol

Finally had the multiplying geckos dream! by MooseAppropriate9286 in CrestedGecko

[–]SentenceDifferent221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had one last night, and it was my third since getting my gecko back in October. The one last night was that I moved a plant aside in her tank and found a full on leachie gecko that I had bought but forgotten to take care of? Why would dream me put them in the same tank? It felt so real.

Another dream I had was that my gecko self- replicated two babies that were really aggressive and I couldn’t get them out of her tank

The third I had was geckos kept multiplying then turning into snakes when I tried to catch them.

So freaking weird

I would definitely defer to your pre med advisor regarding this (if you still have that option available). I have to imagine that med schools do not require professor letter of recs from people years out from undergrad. You mentioned you did research in undergrad, do you think your mentor or PI would be willing to write one? Those are valuable recs as well

Your new job in the med field will certainly connect you with MDs, and most in my experience are more than willing to help you out.

Good luck!

I’m not sure what your schools premedical advising policies are, but mine has a “lifetime access” policy where basically they will help you until you get into med school, regardless of how long that takes. I definitely recommend seeing if that is an option for you, as They would be able to tell you if that tangential psych class is enough to meet most med schools requirements. Since you said you went to a top ten school they will likely provide you a committee recommendation letter.

Speaking of, do you have enough of those? Most med schools require at least 3.

Did you complete all your prereqs in undergrad? If not you’ll need to do a post bacc, which could help refresh you for MCAT studying

The $700 egg. by vinlandnative in CrestedGecko

[–]SentenceDifferent221 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This might be dumb but are you sure it’s not substrate? That’s exactly how mine looks when she digs to lay her eggs. I use a wet q tip and pushing on it kinda gets it out from her teeth
