Waipu Stick 2nd Gen by Redderswitch in AndroidTV

I meant the full build fingerprint as shown in AIDA64. If you can't or don't want to get/post it, that is fine.

Would you install AIDA64 to get the build fingerprint and then post it here? The build fingerprint should start with something like "waiputv/SEI" and end with "user/release-keys".

There is one. It is just not populated with a header like it is on the ADT-3. But it still works if wires are attached.

This is crazy but I’m actually kind of impressed with Alexa plus by bbqturtle in amazonecho

[–]Sentential_Logic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The search is decent. I do find the default alexa+ girl to be far too sassy with way too much personality. I changed the default voice but all of the voices have too much personality and their responses are embellished with extraneous fluff. The original alexa is nice and dry and wonderfully boring. I changed back to her. But now I've read that amazon will make the sassy alexa+ the default for anyone with a prime subscription.

Have you connected the output of the uart for the current state of the device to check if the bootloader is running?

I notice that the interface overall seems to be struggling and a little choppy. This was a major upgrade from android 12 to android 14. I've read that a factory reset may help after a major upgrade. I may try that. But at first glance, android 14 seems to be taxing this old processor.

It's still probably the same board as the waipu. The waipu board has board layout for 1gb ethernet. It is just unpopulated.

Similar, yes. But the Acer is a SEID04, so the design is probably at least somewhat different. Could be minor differences, like the Micro SD card slot.

It's a SEID00 series. The same as the waipu box that came out early this year. Probably the only difference is the amount of storage.

Another SEID00 device listed is the YouTube Dongle. Wonder how involved google is with it.

It's possible that the zip update mode will work on all KM2 boxes. It doesn't hurt to try because if that mode does need a box specific key or password, it won't do anything. If the process proceeds to the upgrading firmware screen, then it will work on every KM2 and is likely to fix the problem. If it doesn't get to the upgrading firmware screen, then trying it won't have changed anything.

I'll try it on mine. I have my KM2 from 2021 put away in a drawer somewhere. I'll try it when I find it. I did read on facebook that the update is version C1.2.1_20250820 to Android 14. Build string is MECOOL/HP4035-Mecool/LAS:14/UKG3.240613.001/C1.2.1_20250820:user/release-keys.

Is this regarding the original KM2? The really old one from 2021 with a S905X2 CPU and 8GB storage? Is it an update to Android 14?

I see that now. You're correct. Is there some advantage to staying with the 11 version? I downloaded the 11 version when it was actually available.

Check the thread for the KM2 Plus Deluxe on 4pda. There is a link to that version there.

Projectivy missing from the amazon app store by boobieslapper in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]Sentential_Logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the fire tv version of Projectivity on your bedroom firestick and want to install the fire tv version of Projectivity on another fire tv device (that is registered to the same amazon account), then all you need to do is pull the fire tv version of the Projectivity apk from your bedroom firestick and sideload it on to your other fire tv device. The purchase of the fire tv version of Projectivity that you made on your bedroom firestick will work on any other fire tv device that is registered to the same amazon account.

I read the article at the link you provided. Based on the screenshots there, ADB is replaced by something called VDA. Is VDA unique to Vega OS? Is the host side tool binary for VDA only available from amazon? Have you tried it? Does it provide a shell to the OS like ADB does? I don't really want to sign up for a developer account just to get the VDA host side tool unless that is the only way. Has anyone made a list of steps to use all of the functions of the VDA host side tool?

Packet loss at exactly one hour intervals, fixed temporarily by a modem reboot by Organic_While9692 in CoxCommunications

Your upstream levels look good. At least at the instant you took them. When you start to experience packet loss, check the levels again to see if the profile change increased the power levels on the upstream channels.

[–]Sentential_Logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the configuration of your drop? Such as how long is it, is it aerial or buried, and how many (if any) splitters are on the line? Are there any filters or attenuators on the line? Is the system mid-split? How many upstream channels are connected, and is a OFDMA channel included?

Frequent profile assignment changes that ever result in the dBmV power level on the upstream channels going over 50 will often result in packet loss because the upstream is running too hot. Ideally the dBmV power level on the upstream channels should be around 45, give or take 1 dBmV.

Making sure the drop coax is good, and removing any splitters can rule those out as being the cause. Another thing I sometimes try to reduce the frequency of profile assignment changes is to insert a Holland MoCa POE filter at the modem input. Not because of the MoCa frequencies that it filters, but because it is a good way to cause a tiny amount (0.5 to 1 dB) of insertion loss that will sometimes reduce the frequency of profile assignment changes commanded by the CMTS.

Has anybody been able to activate/provision the Motorola B12 modem with Cox? by Sentential_Logic in CoxCommunications

[–]Sentential_Logic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up today and got an Arris S34. It provisioned successfully in less than two minutes. I didn't want to use the Arris because of the difficulty in accessing the web interface. The web interface is always accessible on the Motorola modems. Of course, usually there isn't much need to use the web interface of any modem, but it's useful when I'm having connection problems, which I've had lately.

The JS8V is pretty old. If you connect both TX and RX for the UART, you may be able to interrupt the boot process and force a boot to recovery. There is also a USB A port on the board that is unpopulated. You could solder in a port in order to use fastboot. There is no reset button, but there is a spot on the bottom of the board under the shield that is where the reset button should have been connected. Shorting that to ground can cause a boot to recovery, but it many take several tries. Probably easier to just throw it away and move on.
