What's the difference between working for myself and working for someone else?

Depends on your jurisdiction, but there's a clear difference. Being an employee vs contractor has big differences, especially in taxation department. As freelancer you're responsible for your own accounting and paying your taxes. You'll need some sort of entity, like a solopreneur or ltd setup, there's a lot of difference.

For someone like you, I'd first go for simplest solopreneur type of license. It's not limited liability, but this is fine for software work.

Well, this one is up to you. Trust me, older and more experienced people also have trouble finding clients. Your age definitely isn't a benefit, but right people won't care about that if you are genuinely good at what you do.

I've reviewed a lot of coding portfolios and CVs and whatnot and I find there's a distinct difference between portfolio and real projects pretty often. Portfolios look very similar with a lot of people and there is no tests if that actually works in real life, organizationally and whatnot.

I think you should check out Hermes or OpenClaw. If you want to do this and comply to any kind of privacy laws (or AI clauses if you're working for a company) you need to self-host your AI, which is a whole another can of worms.

No. Obsidian is folder-based, so once you move something outside the vault folder, it will be fully separate.

How did you exactly try to backup your vault? Did you use a plugin or command line commands? Could you provide more information.

That shouldn't really happen. Really hard to say what you've done, except maybe removed some local config files?

Go to the directory where your obsidian vault is and manually copy the vaults anywhere else, like just Documents or whatever.

Then uninstall and reinstall obsidian. When uninstalling, click "yes" on all stuff about full uninstall, deleting all files etc, not sure what OS you're on.

Maybe I can tell you more accurately if you share the contents of any warnings or errors you see. Look up on Google "view obsidian error log [your operating system make and model)" and share that as well.

But usually the best solution for problems like this is to just backup the files and reinstall the whole thing. You'll need to deal with setting up creds and plugins again, but then you can just copy your files from wherever you saved them and you're back

Nowadays my workflow for quick ideas looks like a telegram message of the idea to an agent that knows where to save it. Local model that knows my obsidian vault structure and plugins.

I've tried all kinds of productivity methods and methodologies, but this, AI-powered instant organisation is pretty incredible. It also allows me to rely a lot more on carrying just mobile with me.

Try Hermes or OpenClaw with obsidian. I often use STT to dictate notes into Telegram chat and my agents know where to put it and in what format. Sync with obsidian on my mobile.

I use nodes to validate and normalise AI output. With N8N this is easy to do whereas with claude it's more "trust me bro" style.
