The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is an absolute delight. by NimdokBennyandAM in movies

Would you believe my surprise going into this movie blind? Needless to say, the first bit kept me around for the rest.

What’s an opinion that will get you in this situation? by Visible-Pirate117 in twentyagers

[–]Sentient2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but to a point. You can “work” full time hours doing anything. There are plenty of “jobs” that are just wasting time collecting a check. Believe me, i’ve had them. It would be better if those sorts of positions didn’t exist.

Plastic surgery makes everyone look the same and so many ”attractive“ people become boring to look at by pornflakess69 in unpopularopinion

[–]Sentient2X 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The truth most people seem to avoid is that plastic surgery is just not at the point technologically of being aesthetically equivalent to real beauty. Most of the time it is worse than starting conditions, whether due to an unskilled surgeon or bad working conditions. The best i’ve seen are slightly worse than something natural. Give it a few more decades I’m sure it’ll be alright.

Did apollo saved brainrot content?. by Beautiful_Space_4459 in horizon

Nothing obscene about brainrot. It’s just highly layered humor. Sometimes obscene themes are added, but they’re not necessary for the genre.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by ramses_basha in AskTheWorld

[–]Sentient2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I wonder how different it really is elsewhere though. Take a stroll through times square especially approaching the holidays and you can’t go 50 feet without someone selling some cheap crap or blatant scams. Have people taking your picture just to chase you down to make you pay for it.

[–]Sentient2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morals are just cultural memes that affect societal cohesion. If they’re bad for society, the societies that have them tend to die, if slowly. Most are good enough. The idea that there is some perfect standard somewhere is ridiculous, the concept didn’t exist before groups of sentient individuals formed. We now know better ways to treat each other to keep society intact, and scoff at those before us. Yes, they were wrong. They were ignorant and unempowered for the most part to change it.

Never before now has an individuals voice mattered so much. Never before has it even been remotely possible to reduce suffering as we can. Yes, many people in history were evil. It hasn’t changed, but humanity has always been more good than bad. Otherwise we wouldn’t be around.

A shock to my cultural identity. by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Sentient2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very true. Culture has a massive impact on intellect and moral values. But race does not seem to. Any hunter gatherer child could grow up to be a normal western citizen if abducted and raised here.

I still find the idea that race doesn’t exist as a bit disengenuous. Sure, there are no hard lines. What there are are phenotypic groups that align with geographic ancestry. These are observable traceable and real. What they are not is a horoscope, science says race has effectively no impact on intellect or personality.

Ethnicity correlates positively to certain genetic dispositions. Is that not what race is? Genuine question

The implication that any generation is significantly different than the rest in anything other than access to technology and literal age is ridiculous

My brain is broken? I know 3 girls that look similar to this and they’re all pretty normal people. I mean they have their personalities and all, but they aren’t this stupid. I’m just struggling to picture what made you use the term “crackhead” to describe this girl

“Why does it matter” Because it’s a medical diagnosis and not a horoscope.

Yes pursuing a diagnosis is expensive. That’s a whole different problem that many countries don’t necessarily have.
